I'd heard somewhere that this one was pretty graphic and it turned out to be very true. The cinematography was good and the acting was just ok but the story was gripping. While some parts were predictable, most of it kept you on the edge of your seat. Be forewarned though, this is not a movie for the feint of heart(or for children). The ending wasn't what I thought it would be, but hey, I don't write them. If you have a strong stomach and a taste for the strange and unusual, you'll enjoy this one. If not, I'd suggest passing on it. Worth a watch(for some).

It’s the fascinating story of a murder trial in the insular Bukharan-Jewish community of Forest Hills, Queens, in which a young physician is accused of hiring an assassin to kill her estranged husband, a respected orthodontist. Malcolm uses the case as a way to examine how a murder trial is conducted, and to look at the American judicial system as a whole. It was the book that first sparked my interest in true crime."

There's a new wealthy family at "The Gardens," a gated New York community - the Golden family. Not only do they all have strange names (straight out of ancient Roman and Greek history and mythology), but they themselves seem a bit odd. René is a fellow resident, with ambitions in filmmaking, including a project to document the Golden family, but René hasn't decided if he can tell their true story or make up something fictional based on the Goldens; either way, René can't stay away from the Golden House. I really thought this book was true to what might happen of you worked in New York City in the book publishing world. How easy it would be to get caught up with powerful writers, thinking you could learn so much from them instead lose yourself and your dream of making it big. In turn, causing you to do a few things you might not do usually. I also like that to me the title had multiple meanings in the book. The book seemed to lose a little of the story and drag a bit in the middle which is why I rated it as I did.

Susannah Callahan, (played by Chloe Moretz). Becomes increasingly plagued by visions and voices in her head, as time goes on she becomes paranoid and violent also suffering seizures and tantrum like behaviour.
Locked away for everyone's safety as she is thought to have serious psychosis, she becomes catatonic.
A doctor who specialises in brain disorders comes along after a length of time and spots the wrongful diagnosis and that this young woman has a rare form of encephalitis.
Explained as one side of her brain being on fire.
This is well done and thoughtfully played around some difficult issues.
