We are introduced to Joshua Thornton and his five children in chapter 1. The prologue brings Lulu Jefferson's view and a little bit about his parents. We are also introduced to Tad. There is a catch as Joshua moves his family to his former hometown.
He seems to get caught helping someone who tried to kill his cousin Tad in a church, and it seems to bring more to be involved. All when he goes to the state attorney general. It is more as his murderer with his arrangement and ends up murdered along with Beth Davis.
There is a twist when things get more complicated, and the state attorney general decides to ask or request Joshua to become a Special Prosecutor for the case of Vicki Rawlings and Beth Davis. They think he got the trust of the citizens of his hometown. Will he take the offer, or will he not?
Joshua is working with a police officer and a local reporter. What appears to be one thing is that his children are so like him that they want to join in and protect him. Does Joshua wish to be a dad and raise them, or will he hide from them and not send this child to live with their extended family? How will he decide to deal with the life he was chosen for?
Lauren Carr's Mysteries and stories are good. However, this one is less dense when it starts at the story's beginning. However, the action is improving, with this one being when Joshua and his five children are introduced. They are about school age. This book gets better as it goes along.
This is probably when she was starting to write these kinds of stories. This is their second series, so it has improved dramatically since. I love this one. I only wish I knew more about what happened to Valerie and what caused her to pass away. Then Joshua moved and settled in his hometown with his lovely five children. But other than that, it is a good starter book or series to get into her books, Along with Mac Faraday Mysteries.

This is the sixth book in the series and by now, Maxim has established himself as the joker of the pack. He really should know, though, that this mating business isn't all about fun and laughter although this does indeed play a big part in Celeste's books. This book actually goes a fair way before Maxim makes an entrance but it is necessary to learn about Skylar, who she is, and how she thinks, but we don't learn all about her right then. We learn snippets along with Maxim as the story progresses. She's had it tough (understatement) but is still surviving. She is comfortable with who she is but is no wilting wallflower. She is feisty, with a wicked sense of humour and prepared to stand up for herself and those under her protection. Basically, a perfect match for Maxim!

This is a fast-paced book (or maybe it was the speed that I was reading as I simply could not put it down!) with an incredible storyline that involves spoilt, little rich men, psychic abilities, and even the gods. There is never a dull moment and plenty of laughter along the way.
I love the relationship that Maxim has with his brothers and this is evident in the book. The relationship between Maxim and Skylar is both fast and slow. The attraction is instant (as Maxim finds out in the airport) but the rest of it, with love and trust being the biggies, takes time to develop. I loved the explanation given by Skylar about insta-love!

I was a bit wary when starting this book as I knew from the synopsis that there were three people involved and my immediate fear was a love triangle, which I'm really fed up with reading about! However, my fears were groundless as this book took a turn that I never saw coming and by this point, I was totally engrossed in the story.
Liesl, Baden and Koen all change and grow in this book, no stagnation for any of these characters! However, Liesl is the one who grows the most. She has been lied to and manipulated for most of her life but once the truth is given to her, she makes her stand in her own quiet way, showing a strength of will and character where you might have thought of weakness. I loved her! Baden and Koen are both fantastic characters and I loved both of them. One thing I will point out in particular though, and it's about Koen. He has asthma and I LOVED that. He was not an Alpha Male absolutely perfect in every way. Instead, he has a debilitating illness (that I also suffer with so my chest tightened every time I read about his suffering!) and STILL manages to be an Alpha Male absolutely perfect in every way! He is romantic, funny, caring, protective, and loving - everything a romantic like me needs to read about.
The plot was fantastic and was very smoothly written. There is enough depth to this to make it a fantastic book and, speaking as an English transplant in Germany, I loved reading the German sentences because I understood them without the translation. Trust me, this means that it is simple enough for anyone but the translation is there just in case.
Overall, this book swept me away. Well written, edited and with no grammatical mistakes that I found, I was lost within this book and certainly didn't want it to end. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended.

Where to start with this book? It has characters that are well-rounded and developed, a storyline that is both well-paced and intriguing, enough similarities to 'normal' life that you can empathise as well as enough 'out of the ordinary' to keep you thoroughly engrossed with every word, whilst any grammatical errors are not to be found.
Trinity is the quiet, studious one, the one who is beautiful and doesn't realise it. The thing is, she's actually relatable too so you can't hate her, even if you want to! Crystal is the bad girl, I couldn't quite figure out why she is friends with Trinity and Keri but then just accepted it. After all, I think everyone has a friend at some point in their lives Just Because! Keri was the quietest one in the group. She is very observant of Trinity but she is also in a new relationship. She does successfully balance this with her friendships though which was good to read.
The relationship with Blain is complicated and you stay with Trinity as she tries to figure out just what is going on. Morpheus is a dude and I loved him. For some reason, in my head, he became a cross of Morpheus from The Matrix (obviously) but also Spike from Buffy, complete with English accent. Needless to say, I loved any scene with him in it! Trevor is okay, I was liking him up until a comment he made about how he thought Trinity was better than that. It slightly annoyed me as she'd basically put up with everything that the 'clique' had thrown at her and the first time she reacts, he shoots her down!
More than this, I'm not going to say as I really don't want to give away any spoilers. Trust me when I say that I absolutely loved this book and really can't wait for book 2. The ending is satisfying whilst also perfectly leading onto the next book. Absolutely, definitely, completely and highly recommended!

This is the fourth and final (so far) book in this series and what a journey it has been. I have been with Regina from the very start and hoped for a 'happy'ish ending for her. With everything that has gone on previously, I wasn't sure if a happy ending would be in the cards.
Let me tell you, the whole series builds up to the Big Battle climax - not just this book. The evil dudes that have been causing trouble from the start, are still causing trouble, only it is now even deadlier than before. The Pack and Prides need to figure out how to move this forward, to become a single cohesive unit, that can face the oncoming battle and have some chance of winning.
Now, unlike the other books, this doesn't come with a cliffhanger ending. Instead, it all ties up nicely whilst still leaving me with hope of a new story! I will say, at one point, I was getting a tad concerned about where the story was going. I won't go into details, suffice it to say that I've discovered my thinking is more Lykous than Tau (to begin with). How it all came to be though was just so right. I can't give you anything else than that but trust me, when you read these books, my cryptic comments will make sense but I really, REALLY, don't want to give anything away to spoil your enjoyment.
I will say that this book had me in tears... AGAIN! Not only was I ugly crying for the last book, but this one got me too. All I will say Wendi and Deborah really know how to tie your emotions to a character, so if they get hurt, you hurt too.
This is one of the most intriguing, interesting, complex, and fascinating series I've read. If you like an alternate take on things, then I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series. In fact, I really can't recommend it highly enough!

This is the first book in a fantastic new series that I have loved every word of. This is a world of Immortals and mortals, where you can't die but you can be murdered, where the amount of power you have corresponds to how people react to you.
Allie has lived an unconventional life so far, globetrotting with her parents but always alone. She has made few friends as most people seem to be uncomfortable around her. She no longer questions this, but instead accepts it as inevitable. Just as she thinks she is making headway with a friend/boyfriend, her parents tell her they are moving again. This time she ends up in America. Whilst psyching herself up for starting a new school, she meets a boy called Aidan and a whole new world opens up for her.
This is incredibly well-written and I was completely drawn into the story. I LOVED Allie and her sarcasm. She seriously made me snort out loud on more than one occasion, much to the amusement of my family. The interaction and banter between her and Aidan is fantastic. I will say this, I usually hate love triangles, and I mean loathe them! This somehow didn't seem like that though, and although I like Vince, I really REALLY don't want Allie to be with him. Trust me when I say I have fingers, toes and other body parts crossed for Aidan.
If I had to say anything against this book, I would say that with the number of characters involved, and their convoluted relationships/bonds, it sometimes made it a bit confusing to figure out just who was what in relation to whom. However, this is something very minor and quickly becomes irrelevant as you become more immersed in the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book and found it to be over far too quickly, even though it is a good-sized book. Not only can I highly recommend this book, but I will also be on the lookout for the next in the series and waiting with bated breath!
