Suswatibasu (1701 KP) rated Twitter in Apps

Vital for current affairs
Slightly biased as I sort of work with Twitter now, hence I use it minute-to-minute. The content is absolutely essential in modern-day media, from finding out initial pieces of information about an event and reading news, to even looking at statements from politicians - we can only guess who.
When I worked in a newsroom, it was my next port of call to speak to eyewitnesses, or find out something from a far off country, so I can't stress enough how important it is for work. We were able to speak to Ukrainian activists on the ground when the conflict began in 2014 thanks to Twitter.
App-wise, it works relatively fine - the new updates can be problematic as I can't copy the writing and some of the alerts do not get pushed through. I now use Twitter Lite as it takes up less memory space on my phone - it's pretty much the same, but it uses Chrome instead.

great for keeping up with news and friends (4 more)
ability to get notifications whenever a certain account tweets something new
good for openly contacting companies with queries or complaints (and being likely to receive a response!!)
a major advantage the app has over the website/ online browser version is the ability to save drafts of tweets to edit and publish at a later time
some companies and services (especially travel) seem to update via twitter before other sources (!!) so it is very useful for getting accurate/ relevant updates
inherent issues with what Twitter bans and lets slide (1 more)
main timeline can get confusing and it is easy to miss tweets

Many thanks for the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Actual rating 3.5 stars
A good collection of science fiction with some really interesting concepts. I preferred His Master's Voice and the twitter Micro fiction from the collection.

JUMPCUT ONLINE (77 KP) rated Escape Plan: The Extractors (2019) in Movies

Stallone looks bored (eager to crack on with ‘Rambo: Last Blood probably) and Bautista feels more wooden than usual (probably engaged in Twitter exchanges with anti-James Gunn fans). They don’t want to be here, and don’t need to be here.

This book is different stylistically than most I’ve read as a large part the story takes place through Twitter conversations and police transcripts. It was very well executed, with simple and sharp dialogue.
