This movie isn’t meant to have any real depth to it, but surprisingly enough it does give you the chance to get to know the characters… over and over again. The thing about those characters though? Most of them are petty and stereotypical. Then again, it’s frat boys and sorority girls that make up the majority of the cast.
If you’ve seen the trailer for Happy Death Day, then you already know the plot. It’s hard to go spoil a movie when its main plot device is in ever advertisement that aired for it. Tree, the main character, gets to relive her birthday every day, only to meet a gruesome (oh wait, you don’t actually see the details because PG-13) death at the hands of someone who wants her dead. The goal? For her to figure out who so that she can survive the night.
While the movie its self leans heavily on the silly side of things, it’s not a bore to watch. There are a few scenes that coaxed laughter from my mom and me (and the latter isn’t an easy feat). It’s mostly just a fun film meant to entertain more so than scare.

I read Eight Hundred Grapes a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed Laura Dave's writing. I've heard mixed reviews on this book, for me it was alright.
Sunshine Stephens grew up in Montauk, NY Even though the town was full of people with wealthy backgrounds, Sunshine was not a part of those people. She didn't come from a wealthy family, but she escaped the first chance she got. When she met Ryan, he promised her fame and fortune. All she had to do was tell a little lie about who she was and her abilities as a chef. But after a few years like this it's hard to separate fact from fiction. So some jerk has decided to knock Sunshine off of her pedestal and bring her back to reality. All of this was to remind her who she was and where she came from and the life she was currently living was not hers at all.
Overall, this book was pretty good. I liked Sunshine as a character. It sucks that her life had to come down to this life and career destroying conclusion. Will she be able to bounce back and continue to live her life?

A lovely read! Marian Keyes is one of my favourite authors of all time. The story of how I discovered Marian is quite funny, actually.
It was back in the days when I was a teenager and I was in love with the Gifted Series from Marilyn Kaye. I have read only the first two books and I have asked my mum to bring me the rest of them (there were six in total). She came back with a book with an author that had a similar name, and here we are today :)
I have read Watermelon a long time ago, but I have decided to share my thoughts with you now.
This is a chick lit book about a woman left on her own right after she gives birth to her first child and then goes back to her parent's house to start her life over.
This is a story about bravely, love, family and all little things that will melt your heart.
Prepare to cry - Actually, prepare to cry a lot, and don't say I haven't warned you.
A story that will stick with you for years after you've read it. The characters that will make you wish you met them and were their friends over and over again!
