Very amateur Slasher
Stumbled across this on Amazon low budget UK slasher film that tries to capture the 80's Horror vibe. Obviously influenced by Friday the 13th mainly. Some of the ideas are OK, the score was good and Killer mask wasn't bad. Unfortunately as with most basic budget films the execution is poor. Bad acting, poor almost non-existent plot, cheap effects really make it one to miss.

Odd comedy
Spotted this comedy on Sky cinema and gave it a go as the UK cast were quite well known. Sadly it's just not that funny. Very few laughs at all, a shame given the cast involved from so many other funny films and TV shows. Towards the end it got quite serious which really didn't fit well with the rest of film. One to skip.

Loved this show when it uses to be shown sky one hard to believe it's 20 years old now. Such a good moving angel away from Buffy the vampire slayer and into his own show bringing Cordelia along for the ride shame it only lasted five seasons. Plus next week going to a angel reunion convention in the UK reuniting the cast after 20 years except angel not coming shame

So, here are some of the best Xmas releases on Netflix UK, Amazon Prime and NowTV for you to watch over the festive season.

Copycat by Alex Lake is a great psychological thriller full of twists and turns that will mess with your mind. It’s a disturbing story of revenge written at a good pace with interesting characters. I admit it’s not the best psychological thriller I have ever read but it’s pretty good and well worth a few hours of your time.

My thanks to the publisher, HarperCollins UK, via NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

I haven’t read any of Stuart Neville’s books before but I have heard good things so was pleased when I was sent an ecopy of “Those We Left Behind” from NetGalley and the Publisher - Random House UK / Vintage Publishing, in return for an honest review and I certainly wasn't disappointed.

My review can be found on my blog - http://readingstuffnthings.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/those-we-left-behind-by-stuart-neville.html - please feel free to stop by :)

I guess most on here are in US? I’m a Teaching Assistant in Year 6 (UK). I cover teachers absence and admin time - often reading aloud to the class. Last year I worked with year 4 Monday pm and read Michael Morpurgo books including The Dancing Bear, Mr Nobody’s Eyes and Running Wild. I found them rather dry, hard to get engagement from the class. I am interested to hear recommendations for books for KS2 children.

Known in the UK as Much Obliged, Jeeves, this is the penultimate of PG Wodehouse's Jeeves books (the last being Aunt's aren't Gentlemen). This one features his <quote/unquote> 'deserving Aunt Dahlia' as opposed to his Aunt Agatha, and also features a previously-unknown-to-the-reader old school friend of Bertie Wooster in Ginger Winship.

Cue the usual romantic entanglements and sheenanigans!

(oh, and we also find out Jeeves first name (it's Reginald))
