Very disappointed
Very disappointed to say that I really struggled with this book and couldn't get into it at all. I did struggle on to the end but, to be honest, wish I hadn't bothered because I have so many more books to read that I now feel I wasted my time.

I could not connect with the story or any of the characters and found it pretty boring to be honest.

I usually like reading Harlan's books but this one ... not so much.

Thanks to the Publisher, Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for providing me with a copy in return for an honest review.

This could have been so much better. Nice idea but on a tight budget, and thin plot lines it doesn't live up to potential. I thought Arielle Kebbel being in this might be a good sign, but it's not up to the usual quality of films she is in.
I also have to add I really don't understand why they try to Americanise this film? It was obvious to me this was made in the UK, Northern Ireland, so why not set it there? Why try to make out it's a small town in America? Only for those who don't mind low budget horrors.

It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time to raise the curtain on The Muppet Movie's 40th Anniversary tonight!
If you were born between the 1970s and 1990s, it’s almost impossible to imagine a world without “The Muppets”. From “Sesame Street” to “The Muppet Show”, they formed one of the cornerstones of childhood pop culture and while they have endured, they’ve yet to recapture the dizzying heights of their late 1970s/ 1980s dominance. That’s thanks in large part to the irresistible amiability and boundless charm of this, their first full-length movie, released in the UK 40 years ago today...

I found this novel to be very disturbing – but isn’t that the point of psychological thrillers?

The author has told a very interesting, yet chilling, tale which I found difficult to read at times but was so hooked that I had to keep reading – and read it in a day.

I did struggle with the author’s style of writing at the beginning. It seemed more young adult fiction than psychological but once I got over the tone I did enjoy the book, although did find it predictable.

Thanks to Ali Land, Penguin UK and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this new and exciting novel for 2017.
