This had the potential to be absolutely excellent, the characters are great and the story really keeps you hooked. The relationships between characters are explosive and your letting wanting to watch another.

Loved the gore and cut throat atmosphere that adds a layer of danger throughout.

I think someone was given way too much artistic license with this, there were lots of concentration face cuts, scenes taking through glass, underwater, starting the episode with the end scene etc etc. When that may not have been needed.

One scene was filmed in golden hour or supposedly. The sky was blue but to romanticize the burying of the body the actors/actress were bathed in golden light that, shadows were all wrong and didnt match the lighting.

There were several continuity errors, I dont particularly look out for them but these were quite big.

The reveal if the "whodunnit" could have been orchestrated better and the overall events could have been more intricate. Especially as the death involved several different methods/equipment there was potential that several of the cast could have been involved.

Decent, what is essentially 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 meets 𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘯 without the fun, tantalizing lore of either. First 15 minutes and last 15 minutes are fucking banger (and terrifying, case #5,000 on why I'll never so much as dip a toe in the ocean), though everything sandwiched between is a mixed bag - I'll give it credit that it gets right into it with maybe only 30 or so seconds of exposition; but it isn't always intense enough to be this brisk and the editing can be a bit of a mess, so much is easy to miss. I'll credit Stewart acting the house down for saving this movie, while the rest of the cast... exists. Occasionally falls into your conventional modern horror movie traps but not nearly as much as you'd expect. Looks way better in the interior environments as opposed to the actual underwater stuff, but otherwise it does what it should - definitely has some scary as hell parts but never truly coagulates into a whole. Not sure why this was put on hold for so long, but it is nice to see T.J. Miller return to disaster movies.

In the first "47 Meters Down," two friends went cage-diving in shark-infested waters and became trapped on the bottom after the line is tragically severed. The sequel takes place in Mexico with four teenagers who are not exactly friends at the beginning cave-diving in an ancient Mayan city that became submerged. One of the girls secretly rendevouses with an underwater explorer who showed her a secret dock where diving gear was being hidden for archaelogists. She then takes her friends to the secret spot one Saturday when two of the girls who are stepsisters are supposed to take a glass-bottom boat to shark-infested waters. The girls then explore the Mayan cave where they find a shark who has become trapped in the caves. The rest of the movie is the friends attempting to escape these blood-thirsty monsters and bonding. Unfortunately, after Florida alligators and a series of killer shark movies, 47 Meters Down Uncaged does not satisfy in any way (both story or camp-wise). The filmmakers and studio knew this or they would not released the film in the middle of August against four other wide releases.
