Hey everyone. I know I have been bombarding this site with book reviews. I am a professional book reviewer and write for a national newspaper (under my other name). I do believe, however, in paying it forward, so these are some of my many reviews. I graduated from University last year with a BA Hons First class in English Literature, so as you might guess, I love books. I am now at the tail end of a post graduate course in Creative Writing and just started my dissertation. This site is a nice distraction and a great way to procrastinate, I would love to hear from like minded book people. I love memoir and am in the process of writing my own.

im also headed to school for creative writing and have written 3 books, none published because i'm to freaked out to let another person read them, they are memories of my life and i'm not ready to take that step yet. Im probably going to do the same as you, write a ton of books reviews because i'm obsessed with them LOL

The 3rd book to this trilogy still isn't out (0 more)
This book drew me into the world of fantasy!!
This book tells the tale of a mans life, of his childhood and his manhood. He comes from a land where magic exists and there is an entire university dedicated to teaching it. The hero is mischievous and in and out of trouble throughout the book but in the ways most young men are. If you love books and have never read a fantasy novel before try this one, if you love fantasy it was my husbands classic "nerd" friends who forced this book on me (I'm using "nerd" as a loving descriptive term, like you'd call the guys of Big Bang theory "nerds").

Ghosts and the paranormal have always fascinated me. I keep hoping to discover that such things are real even though I can't help but doubt that they are. It is fascinating then that a major university like Duke at one time had a department focused solely on investigating the validity of these beliefs. The program and its founders have an interesting history, and it makes for a really fascinating read. I won't go into any details about what they do or don't discover, but it will certainly leave one wondering why there hasn't been more serious research into the fields these scientists were looking at since the program's end. Anyone who is even remotely curious about the supernatural should check this book out.

A light, easy read about four university friends whose lives are full of family, work, love and all going through transitions in their life. Stacey has lost her job as a high-flying city businesswoman and her elderly mother needs care. Beth and her partner are renovating a house and achieving academic success. Gaby spends her days ruthlessly running an empire and her nights controlling a household with a husband and three children. Whilst successful and single, Melissa's past love catches up with her and her teenage son. The characters are endearing in their honest approach to mid-life changes. Their lives will resonate with anyone who has endured, or even encountered, the juggling act of being a modern woman.

A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mysterious manuscript he's hunted for over five hundred years. He never expected a young student librarian could be the key to unlock its secrets, nor could he have predicted the danger she would attract.

Now he and Beatrice De Novo follow a twisted maze that leads from the archives of a university library, though the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a confrontation hundreds of years in the making.

I really enjoyed reading this! Loved the discovery of witches vibe I got. The characters are brilliant I loved them all.it flowed easy enough and I didn't want to put it down. Look forward to book 2.
