An enjoyable book. Dodger travels through Victorian London, crossing and joining history like an early Forest Gump. Still has the wit and humour that Sir Terry fans will enjoy.

Really entertaining and clearly written account of life in Victorian Britain. This uses not just written sources, but Ruth Goodman's own experiences of 'living' as a Victorian. Let's be honest, no amount of words can give you quite the same experience as living and working wearing a corset day-in day-out!

Highly recommended! I've just got her book on the Tudors and expect that to be every bit as entertaining and informative.
