On Saturday evening I went to see Symphonic Fantasy at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall. This featured songs from a number of films and tv shows, performed by the Manchester Concert Orchestra and the Canzonetta choir, led by conductor Toby Purser.

Whilst the thought of going to see a standard orchestra doesn’t particularly appeal, getting to see an orchestra performing film scores was very enticing and I have to admit, I was not disappointed - I loved it. Some of the scores were a little more obscure or less well known (like Hook, Chronicles of Narnia and Dragonheart), but there were some fantastic choices in here from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones (the Rains of Castamere & the title score the main draws) The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. My favourite by far though was the Jurassic Park theme, it’s one of my all time favourites so seeing this performed live by an orchestra was truly brilliant.

The Bridgewater Hall itself is a great venue for such a show and admittedly we had brilliant seats - close enough without being too close to not be able to see the entire orchestra. I also liked that they didn’t bother with any flashy extras like video screens or special effects, it was purely about the music and without any other distractions, it really let you appreciate the music itself.

My only criticism is around a small number of the music choices, and that they could’ve chosen some better more well known scores. There’s lots out there to choose from! That said, it was still a fantastic civilised night out and definitely something worth considering if you like film scores. 9/10

Ride to Hell..and stay there!
Ride to hell retribution was obviously designed to cash in on the success of popular tv show Sons of Anarchy, which it fails to and if you haven't had the unfortunate time wasting so called opportunity...you have no idea how lucky you are.

announced in 2008 and cancelled later the same year was just the beginning.

Ride to Hell has been donned one of the worst video games ever, broken and repetitive gameplay, terrible controls, outdated graphics, poor voice acting, poor A.I, the most awkward sex scenes, seriously offensive portrayal of women, almost constant bugs and glitches, and dropped original plan for it to be an open world.

Plot:
1969
Vietnam veteran Jake Conway returns home to his family of bikers, uncle Mack and brother Mikey. Mikey has grown distant from his brother and uncle, but is infatuated with his college friend and tutor, Ellie, who likes bands.
Mikey leaves angered when Mack refuses to allow him to go to a concert with Ellie.

Mack sends Jake after him
after consoling, they go to a diner.
Outside they're confronted by The Devil's Hand bike gang.
Jake intervenes as Devil's Hand member notices Mikey's jacket causing a chase.
The Devil's Hand hold the brothers at gunpoint over their fathers rival gang jacket. Mikey spills
Meathook (yep...bad guy name) slits Mikey's throat, and as Jake mourns (cheesey scream) his brother he is shot and left for dead.

From this point, many broken levels follow, getting to the end of a level doesn't mean you finished it...usually means you failed because this game sucks.

Money sucks.

It can be a good thing, but at the same time it can ruin relationships or at the very least cause fights and angst. Simon and Kara haven’t totally figured out how to deal with their money, even though they are engaged. Kara is still self-conscious about the income gap between them and wants a prenup. Simon is worried that Kara doesn’t think that he trusts her and wants to do anything and everything to prove that he does. Then there’s the little matter of Kara’s pregnancy.

While I enjoyed this Simon and Kara story very much, I only enjoyed reading it once. One read through is enough time to enjoy the romantic gestures and Simon’s and Kara’s hopeless love and attraction to each other. But like a significant other, the more time you spend with the story, the more you see flaws and annoying habits that make you cringe. Simon and Kara fight like two teenagers riddled with hormones and angst. While Simon is still smokin’ hot, and the sex scenes are well worth the read, Simon slowly loses his brain cells until he sounds more like a caveman and less like a video game designer with alpha male tendencies. I don’t know how many times he called Kara “his woman”, but it was enough to annoy me. Severely annoy me.

But like any other significant lover worth loving, you get over the flaws. The Billionaire’s Obsession is a fantastic, well detailed erotic romance that has fantastic sex scenes, great characters, and even a plot, which is a rare find in the dark and dangerous realm of erotica.
