The 80s were a great time for movies and in particular a very violent and at some times black humoured movie from director Paul Verhoeven, yes folks, I'm talking about the original RoboCop.
It's the film that a lot of us still love today, with its story of a good cop (Peter Weller) who is murdered by criminals, in possibly one of the most gruesome cop killings in a movie in the 80s, who is then pieced back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg, who is tormented by the memory of his death and in turn goes out for revenge.

Friends till the end
Well we have been down this route before obviously with Child's Play and the remake of a child's toy going on the rampage. Although no where near as violent or with the tongue in cheek humour with Chucky this was quite enjoyable.
Concentrating on the tech side with the AI and the family dynamics of a young woman suddenly becoming the guardian of her niece. Plenty of character development before the terror reaches the final act. Worth a viewing if you think the premise originally didn't grab you.

It's no Gladiator
Well this is billed as this generations Gladiator, sadly not anywhere near that epic. It is hard to think of what to say about it, strange at times, very violent and brutal with a tale of revenge running through its core. Then it takes a slightly different direction and slows the pace considerably as well as looking quite small in scale from what was billed. Definitely falls into the category of the trailer looked better than the film as a whole. Enjoyable still but not the grand revenge film I expected.
Herc is the story of Hercules told by the people who knew him. I really enjoyed this style of storytelling, it seemed more personal, and unlike the traditional myths, we could see how Hercules actions impacted on those around him, and those he loved.
This isn’t a story for the faint-hearted. It’s graphic both in violence (he was a violent man) and sex (who liked sex). Also, it would probably help if you knew the story of Hercules before starting this. It can dart around a bit from person to person.
