Kill List is a very British Horror, that follows a clearly damaged ex-soldier that is drawn into the world of hit-men and assassinations in order to earn his way out of financial trouble.

Featuring a number of recognizable British tv actors, and a interesting edit style that chops out extraneous seconds here there and everywhere, often overlaying conversational narrative over a shot displaying a different scene, effectively giving you two informational elements at the same time.

It has some brutal violence, as the two hitman proceed to move down their list discovering generally bad people, which allows the viewer to avoid the moral conflict that might otherwise complicate the premise.

There are nods that the people hiring them know more than they are letting on, and the film builds to a slightly confusing crescendo with an ending similar to another very controversial horror film of recent years, that will shock some and disappoint others.

Overall it is an enjoyable but challenging film, that would have benefited from signposting a few more of the confusing elements more clearly, though the ending and its insinuations are more than likely intended to be of a vague and open nature by design.

Violent, upsetting and very dark in theme, Kill List is definitely a horror, and definitely not one for those of a weak constitution...it is flawed, and not a classic but it certainly is a solid choice for a rainy evening.

Lies Ripped Open ( Hellequin Chronicles 5)
by Steve McHugh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Over a hundred years have passed since a group of violent killers went on the rampage, murdering innocent victims for fun. But even back then, sorcerer Nate Garrett, aka Hellequin, knew there was more to it than simple savage pleasure—souls were being stolen.

Nate’s discovery of the souls’ use, and of those supporting the group’s plan, made him question everything he believed.

Now the group Nate thought long dead is back. Violent, angry, and hell-bent on revenge, they have Hellequin firmly in their sights. And if he won’t come willingly, they’ll take those closest to him first.

The battle begins again.

This series is something else! You ever find a series that just grips you from start to finish? Well this is one of mine I actually got so excited when I saw it up next on my kindle. Nate has to be one of my favourite men ever! With each book I find him that little bit more addictive. This series bring us all the myths and legends that we can only dream of from gods to manticores and griffins, from the UK to the mythical realms of Avalon. This has to be my favourite yet this one takes us back in parts to 1888 and Jack the Rippers London. With Nate and friends chasing a group of fanaticals that also resurface in modern day. Just so so enjoyable to read and I highly recommend! Oh and Merlin really is pushing his luck!

Jordan Peele wrote a decent supernatural thriller with Get Out. The tension was good and the story unfolded well. My first problem is that the "big reveal" was semi-predictable with the clues they were giving us, not to mention that it reminded me too much of another film (Skeleton Key). It was easy to see from start that the girlfriend was involved in the "trap", if you will, and I spent the second half of the movie praying for her demise and a hopefully violent end to the "Macaulay Culkin on crack" looking douche. The very last few minutes of the movie (the pictures) were probably the only part of the film that had any shock value to the story.

Amazing action scenes
I'm gonna need guns, lots of guns!
Another action packed John Wick film. It has more action scenes than crammed into 2 or 3 similar films. It's what we expect with the series now, very simple on the storyline with tons of fights, shootouts, chases. I would say this is better than the last one. The fight choreography is amazing, fast and frenzied without actually being edited so that you can't make half of it out. You can see every move, block, punch and kick in this. Whether it's with fists, knives, guns or even books it is just a higher standard to most action films.
So if you want a violent non-stop action film from start to finish this is the film for you.

Bad
This movie was hard to get through. It's a revenge movie that takes place in the eighties(ok), was made within the last year(it's 2018!), but everything about it screams 70s. The acting(so bad), cinematography, the storyline. Even the animated sequences. It had some violent scenes that looked straight out of a 70s movie as well. I don't expect perfection, but it's 2018, even a low budget film can be done well. They tried to use lighting effects to make it seem more "visual", but again, felt straight out of a 70s flick. The soundtrack was decent enough... for a 70s horror film. Anyway, I guess I just expect(hope for?) better from a movie these days. Sorry, this inne is not worth a watch.

Fourth book I've now read in this series and I'd say I liked this one the least and probably won't read any more. In this one particularly there was much less focus on the 'mystery' part and more on other goings on. There are also things at the end that don't seem quite tied up - ~I've had that before where some bits are picked up at the beginning of the new book, but it means that these don't stand alone very well. Yes, it's good to read a series, but if someone picks up in the middle this makes it more tricky.

The Royal Spyness books by the same author I've read some of, but I think those are a bit more humorous and these are a bit more gritty and violent.

I was looking to forward to this film with such a great cast and a legendary director behind it but was left quite disappointed once it was all over.

This was Tarantino showing us how great hollywood was in the old days and how they dont make them nowadays like they did then.Dicaprios character seemed like he was heading towards a nervous breakdown for most of the film and Pitt's character was just there, hanging around and being cool.

The best part of the film was the ending, that was tarantino at his brutal, bloody and violent best, loved the way that brandy the dog helped kill the manson family members.

An enjoyable film but for me the weakest of all of tarantino's movies so far.

A weird synergy of accents, Guns and violence
It's fair to say that this film is exactly what it says on the tin. Guns. Akimbo. The premise is fairly easy to guess.... Especially In the modern world of internet trolls getting their comeuppance. That's about where it stops for me. The bad guy is fairly intimidate In a panto villain way and the two main leads are acceptable. I was unsure about the way they team them up but it's American so, What can you expect? I'd give it a watch on a Friday night if you aren't going up the pub but there are better films out there if you like a violent flick

Girl problems
413. 68 Kill. Chip's girlfriend Liza is gorgeous. Liza's sugar daddy has 68 thousand bucks in a safe that she wants to steal. Oh yea Liza is a prostitute and more than likely a sociopath. I know, you shouldn't make judgements about people based on only a few observations... With that, Liza also murders her sugar daddy and his wife, ooops and apparently they had another guest over, beauty, Violet that witnesses the whole thing. Now a sociopath would probably just kill the witness right? Liza does not, Chip is very relieved at this. Liza informs Chip that they'll just sell Violet to her brother Dwayne. Hmm. What to do? Love, makes you do crazy things... That kicks off quite the night for Chip in this violent black comedy. Filmbufftim on FB!
