Not Your Average Hammer Film
The Devil Rides Out- is not your average hammer film. It has little sexual or violent content. The film's tone is serious, lacking the intentional camp and tongue-in-cheek style of many other Hammer titles. Which makes the film more intresting. The tone of the flim is serious and focusing on that topic.
The plot: When the Duc de Richleau (Christopher Lee) and Rex Van Ryn (Leon Greene) arrive at a fashionable party thrown by de Richleau's protégé, Simon Aron (Patrick Mower), they soon realize that the party is in fact a gathering of a Satanic cult, led by the high priest Mocata (Charles Gray), that plans to initiate the beautiful Tanith (Nike Arrighi) that night. It's up to de Richleau and Van Ryn to defeat the devil-worshiping Mocata and save innocent young Tanith and the others from a terrible fate.
Its a really good movie and i highly recordmend this film to others. Like i said its not your average hammer film. It takes its topic/subject very serious. And its one of Terence Fisher's best films he has directed.

I figured with today's current events, I'd give this a read. I can't say I've never seen (or heard) acts (or words) of racism, but I will admit that, for the most part, it hasn't truly been directed at me. Reading this hurt my heart and made me angry in a very violent way. Stupidity is everywhere. Unfortunately, racism is everywhere. However, as someone who's been privileged enough to not have true, memorable experience with it, I was shocked and disgusted by the acts of the people in this fictional community. And while the story itself, characters included, may be storybook fake, the feelings and harassment within are likely based on true acts. Hatred is a horrible thing and Shirin is literally so used to it that she feels it's safer to assume everyone is after her, everyone hates her, everyone is wilfully ignorant and therefore deliberately prejudice towards her - it's her coping mechanism; see the absolute worst in others, keep your distance, and maybe it'll hurt less. We need more people like Ocean, who was so adorably awkward and sweet, and genuinely interested in learning more!
Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Dredd (2012) in Movies

Welcome to peach trees
Welcome to Mega-City One, a self contained city, with over 400 million citizens where the only law enforcers are the Judge's who are Judge, Jury & executioner. Filled with mega-structures.
Peach Trees is a 200 Floor mega-structure housing tower, the block is home to more than 75,000 citizens & is Notorious for its crime rate.
Whilst investigating a homicide with rookie Judge with a powerful psychic ability legendary Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) becomes the Target of a vicious and violent Hunt by the Ma-Ma clan when she put the tower into Lockdown!
Karl Urban's portrayal of the comic book Legend and his decision to remain faithful to the character made this movie one not to miss and although the box office was not as successful as it should have been, it has become a cult Hit with audiences all over the world.
Dredd is dark, gritty, well thought out, with a great plot fantastic action and gave us a dredd who doesn't remove his helmet.
Highly recommended.

LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Parasite (2019) in Movies

There's not a huge amount I can say about Parasite that hasn't been said already - it's pretty damn good.
Bong Joon Ho's tragicomedy is sometimes sad, sometimes hilarious, and bursting with tension when it needs to be.
The cast are excellent, especially Woo-sik Choi and So-dam Park.
The plot beats about class discrimination are the heart of Parasite, and provides the bulk of the film's entertainment, whilst still being hard hitting and grounded in unfortunate reality.
This is aided by some truly inspired cinematography, full of nice touches. An example that springs to mind is the wealthy Park family residence, sitting up high. The Kim family resides practically underground. In one scene, the Kim family descend through the city level by level during a violent storm to get back home, a motif for how the poor constantly live in the shadows of those better off. It's a shot that has stuck with me since viewing.
The screenplay is full of wit and strong character development leading to a genuinely thrilling climax that had me on the edge of my seat.
Parasite is absolutely worth your time, easily one of my top films of 2019.

Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) in Movies

The Introducing of The PG-13 Rating
Temple of Doom- is it my favorite no. The third one is the best one in my opinion. It goes 3, 1 and 2. Their is action and suspense but not as much as 1 and 3. Its slow and builds up its action and suspense which again can be good. But in this, i fell like falling asleep and i think i did cause it was boring. Other than that, it was a decent movie.
The plot: Adventure sequel. Intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones, on the trail of fortune and glory in Old Shanghai, is ricocheted into a dangerous adventure in India. With his faithful companion Short Round and nightclub singer Willie Scott, Indie goes in search of the magical Sankara stone, and uncovers an ancient evil which threatens all who come into contact with it.
In response to some of the more violent sequences in the film, and with similar complaints about Gremlins, Spielberg suggested that the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) alter its rating system, which it did within two months of the film's release, creating a new PG-13 rating.
