I was given this book by a friend who knows of my love of "fantasy" books and folklore / mythology. This was an absolutely magnificent read that draws you in from the first page and keeps you guessing until the end. Exceedingly well written with characters you can associate with. I have to admit that my favourite part of the book is actually the location of Wales and therefore the folklore given is Welsh. It make such a refreshing change to read about Wales' history and not just Ireland.

Would highly recommend it to simply everyone!!!

Great Western
A very good western by todays standards and better than a few I have seen recently. Much more like an old school western like The outlaw Josey Wales. Good performances all round and plenty of action along the way.

"I love this artist. He's called Rod Thomas and is from Wales and when he asked me to sing on his next record I was so flattered. And here is singing a song by my most favourite artist ever, Kate Bush."

Garthowen (A Story Of A Welsh Homestead) by Allen Raine
This is a gentle story, written and based in the 1800's. It is about one family and their homestead and the people that they meet along the way. It is an interesting view back into what "Old" Wales might have been like, the scenery and the viewpoints. There is a love story within this book but it doesn't dominate.

If you like a gentle story and historical fiction, if you like Wales, then this story is for you.

Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA

It is 878 AD, and the Viking Invasion of Britain is over. The Norse warlords are firmly established, but the ambitious kings of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales have aspirations of their own – not least the great King Alfred of Wessex.

This book is beautifully written and very intriguing. Set in Wales (mostly) it had me wanting to visit this gorgeous back drop.

Tegan is a very likeable character and I feel you're willing her to do well, to overcome her fears.

Cerys, her cousin and friend is a lovely rounded character who you also become attached too.

Not very many stories of Jews during World War II have a happy ending. Being evacuated twice, once from Germany to London on the Kindertransport and then again to Wales after war is declared, Marianne's struggles are visceral. Watching a child go through terrifying separation from her family only to be placed in difficult and lonely situations was heart wrenching. Though it is bittersweet, I was overjoyed by the ending to this beautiful book. Marianne certainly deserved it!
