Jason Smith (9 KP) rated The Fate of the Furious (2017) in Movies
Apr 28, 2017
Keeps true to its comedy (3 more)
Fast Car
Exotic cars
Lots of explosions
Another win for The Fast and the Furious movie empire
I've seen all the previous Fast and the Furious movies so I figured I'd check this one out as well. If you enjoy the originals you'll like this is well. It keeps to comedy origins as well as fast cars explosions and action-packed scenes. They seem to have come up with a recipe that succeeds with each movie they make in the series.

well what can I say, wow, this is such a fantastic read. even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. the characters were really well written and the story around them worked really well. this author has a fab way of writing, giving you just the right amounts of different elements so that you end up with a fantastic read. this is one of them books that you love every page you read and are left wanting more when your finished. I cant wait to read more from this author.

A perfect supplementary tool for every crocheter. As a newer crocheter and visual learner, I appreciated the accompanying images and loved that they added in issues the user may run in to as well. Overall, I felt this was a well-rounded book. It doesnt just show you stitches and how to create them. It also discusses the different yarn types as well, which is influential to any project. As someone who is a visual learner, this is a perfect accessory. I recommend it to anyone interested in crochet.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Grey (2012) in Movies
Feb 10, 2018
A decent survival drama/thriller as a group of men try to survive a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness with a pack of Wolves on their trail. Neeson seems to be the flavour of the year at present and does another good job here. The only problem is the story is a little bleak and tries to carry a message about death and the afterlife as well. Which starts fairly subtle before cropping up quite regularly towards the end. It has a very short scene after the credits as well. Reminded me of The Edge as well.

Cranky Dad UK (11 KP) rated Rango (2011) in Movies

Johnny Depp's voice acting (2 more)
The animation
Great humour and set pieces
Depp-Tastic
In a nut shell, Depp voices a Lizard who calls himself Rango, when fate strands him in the middle of nowhere.
Before long he uses his anonymity to his advantage, to ingratiate himself with the residents of a troubled town...
Depp is fantastic in this role, which is clearly written for him.
There are plenty of jokes and well crafted action scenes as well as a superbly realized villain.
If you enjoy well written animations, then this is for you.
It appeals to all ages and is heaps of fun.

Well made
Story (1 more)
Gameplay
Good, but not exactly original.
A well made but dull addition to the Tomb Raider franchise.
The game itself is well made, but it has lost the charm of the original games. The game, like the first in the prequel trilogy, boasts its "free-roam" option, which doesn't really add much to the game or the story.
There's also very little in the way of tomb raiding, with tombs being fun challenges reminiscent of the original puzzles, but feeling like little more than an afterthought as something they should probably put in.

Book Divas (227 KP) rated Death by the River in Books

Emotional Roller Coaster
As I write this review I'm riding an overwhelming wave of emotions as I honestly was unprepared for not only the ending but the entire read. The progression of Beau's psychopathic tendencies was completely mind-boggling and showed just how well he was able to hide his true self from others. You could practically taste the fear of the ones he hurt. The characters were strong, well developed and worked well as a whole and the storyline kept me hooked from beginning to end. This tale will stay with me for a long time.

LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Obi-Wan Kenobi in TV

For 99% of its run time, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a solid 7/10 for me. Having Ewan McGregor back as the titular Jedi is like seeing an old friend after a few years. It drip feeds us Vader content before delivering arguably the best lightsaber duel of the entire franchise. It has several well fleshed out emotional moments, and moves at a decent pace.
And then...then... the audacious bastards had the absolute stones to end the series with a "hello there" and that my friends, moved it to an easy 8/10. Well played Star Wars, well played.

Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Touch in Books
Apr 27, 2018
Touch was crazy. It threw you in at the first sentence. It hung on tight the whole story through. I was amazed at the beauty and ugliness of the thing that was the main character—whatever her…his…it’s name was. I was amazed at all of it. Up until the end when I thought I would cry.
I didn’t want it to end, and when I finally figured out how it would, end I was furious. But I also knew there was literally no other way it could work; and yet it was still so hard to accept.
The mystery, the suspense, the back-story that fed into the current events, it was all enchanting and amazing and well written, and I will 100% read it again, and 100% recommend it to anybody. Claire North, you’re on my Author Watch.
As well as being well written, it was also well performed. I loved the voice chosen for the reader, it was read at a good speed, and it was read well.
Content/Recommendation: Some language. ages 15+

Lindsay (1760 KP) rated The Soicety of Extraordinary Raccoon Society in Books
Dec 19, 2019
The Society of Extraordinary Raccoon Society The book is about sharing and giving. It is done well. Children will learn some rhyme as well with this book. Though the book is about learning what is right and wrong. There is also the lesson of giving to though that need it more. The author does this well. Show it tough the pictures. The pictures do tell the story. Learning about giving to others is the most important thing. This book is more showing you around the secret society but also what they do.God wants us do be a giver and share too though who needs the stuff. I enjoy the way the story is story or meaning of the story is told. Teaching children the meaning and telling about giving your stuff away to though that need it. Teaching children to share as well.Rhyming is a part of the theme in this book. Children can learn words as well. It is fun to read. It also enjoys and can make your child or children laugh as well.
