Lizzie Jeffreys (2 KP) rated Red Hood and the Outlaws: Volume 5 in Books
Nov 19, 2017
With gorgeous artwork, emotional writing, action packed fighting scenes and unnerving plot twists, the fifth volume of this fantastic comic series will leave readers on the edge of their seats and gasping for more.
Unfortunately one of the more underrated of DC's series, Red Hood and the Outlaws is perfect for those who appreciate dark humour, magic, and love in all its forms; as well as gratuitous well-earned and specacular butt whoopings.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) in Movies
Jul 19, 2017
Good action scenes (2 more)
Quite lighthearted
Links well after Capt America Civil War
A decent entry bringing Spiderman into the Marvel universe
A good film with some big action scenes and Michael Keaton does well as the villian. Ties in nicely with the Avengers films but maybe had too many references to them. I still prefer the first Spiderman film (2002) but this a good film overall.
Dean (6927 KP) rated Monsters, Inc. (2001) in Movies

Nice character design (2 more)
Fun story
Plenty of humour for adults as well
Warm & fuzzy animation
A bright, colourful animated film with some funny characters. The story is ok and there is plenty to keep the older generation amused as well. Personally for me it's not as good as @Toy Story (1995) and a few other Pixar films.
Dean (6927 KP) rated Sin City (2005) in Movies

All star cast (2 more)
The way the various stories cross over
The visual look of the film
Comic book comes to life
A very stylish film based on a graphic novel, the film has a largely monochrome look which works well with the comic element. The film consists of a few stories that cross paths in Sin city. All of them are very good as well as the main story piecing them together. Very original.
Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated Carlos the Chameleon: A Story to Help Empower Children to Be Themselves in Books
Apr 10, 2018
Another well thought out title from the publishers, Jessica Kingsley Publishers. This one follows Carlos' attempts to "fit in" with other groups of friends and discovering in the end that they all like him for who is really is. Nicely illustrated, the language is more targeted at a younger audience and with notes and resources for teachers and parents. This book would work well in primary or first school and with homeschooling.
Tedious
Why use one word when five will do? It's as though the author can't quite decide on which descriptive term to use, so writes a list of alternatives then uses them all.
This makes for a very laborious read. I think the book had something to say, but it didn't say it well. There may well be a story hidden somewhere too.

Frecklesxoxo (6 KP) rated ICKY PUCKET in Books
Feb 27, 2019
I must admit this was a long time coming and life just got in the way and when I read his first book, I just didn't like it, it wasn't my ting but Matt sent me icky pucket and my views on his writing skills have greatly improved. His writing style for me was cleaner, less confusing and his characters were well though out and interesting. Well done Matt.....sorry it took me so long !!

this is the third book in the set but each book can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this book especially the characters which was well written. the story line is full of steamy hot sex scenes. the author seems to connect with the story which makes you connect with the story as well. this is a fantastic romantic story from a fantastic author.

this is the second book ive read from this author and it was just as good. this is a well written book with a fab story line. this book is a fast paced romance story. the characters are fab and work really well through out the story. the only bad point is that it is so short, would have loved it to be longer.
