A heady irreverent drama-dy fit for older millennials.

One of my favorite genres! I love messing with time-lines and time-loops. This show doesn't fall into the easy writing errors that many make with this genre. They don't spend time with exposition figuring out the "Why" of the plot. Instead, they just deal with the issues presented to them. They don't spend time messing with issues that can cause big continuity errors. They instead just use the plot to tell the story. The story was well thought out and beautifully told. It is a story essential for millenials struggling with identity, how we are shaped by others, and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to those around us. Bravo! 9/10 would watch again.

Great Dramatic Science Fiction Thriller

I like J.K. Simmons so I was intrigued by this new show and decided to check it out. It is quite interesting in the fact that it tells you right away that there is a parallel Earth that is similar to ours and everyone has an other that looks just like them with the same name similar memories to a point, but certain paths in their lives diverge so there are slight differences between the prime person and their other. J.K. Simmons really shines in this playing the main characters Howard Silk and Other Howard Silk. There are differences in the parallel world compared to the prime world as well. The story is great with interesting characters, intense drama, and the cast is great as well. It always keeps you guessing and it's really well done.

Well written, if not slightly predictable

This is a very well written book told from the differing lives of two characters, linked by a hospital. Both of the main characters, Grace and Mina, are engaging and well developed and you really care about their wellbeing. Possibly Grace more than Mina, as Grace comes across as very nice and sweet whereas Mina is a little more flawed and isn’t quite as personable. But regardless I still found both of their stories very interesting to read, the problem is that they were both very predictable. Mina’s story especially I could’ve foretold as soon as she ended up in the hospital, which is a shame as it gets a bit disappointing reading something which isn’t surprising. That said, this is still a very good read, mainly for the quality of the writing and characters, if not for the entire plot.

Excitable LA-set horror-fantasy. A French anthropologist (Brosnan) becomes obsessed with his discovery that Los Angeles is infested with evil Eskimo spirits, apparently disguised as bikers and punks, one of whom is played by Adam Ant. (Yes, this really is the plot.)

Starts off showing signs of promise but becomes thoroughly unravelled well before the end; the presence of a frame story about a doctor (Down) investigating the French guy's death clutters rather than deepens the story. Stylish in a very mid-80s way: lots of drum machines, synth music, and indiscriminate use of slow motion. Brosnan's allo-ah-ahm-Fronsh performance is, well, interesting; he does the accent about as well as he sings. It just about stays watchable but isn't quite bad enough to be fun. Apparently Arnie saw it and was impressed enough to hire McTiernan to do Predator, which probably justifies its existence.

Had everything

A House Full of Ghosts

Well I loved this. It had everything. A thriller and a murder mystery with romance and ghosts as well. The story flowed magnificently, the characters were endearing and shone from the pages and the history and setting were also deliberate and engrossing. This is a book you can imagine being timeless and far reaching, I can imagine my teenage son or my grandad in his nineties enjoying it. A fantastic story difficult to put down and to top it off presented beautifully in this gorgeous black and gold hardback. Imagine Downton Abbey meets Sherlock Holmes with a bit of Spooky Dickens chucked in for good mrasure. Bring on the movie, it would work so well and I have absolutely no doubt that we will be seeing these characters again and I for one can't wait.
