Interesting

Overall this book had good characters, and a good plot (even if it was somewhat predictable). I did really enjoy it, and I will be buying the second book in the series since the first one held my attention so well.

"Ah! Well, again, Sofia [Coppola] did an amazing transcription of the book, and again, Jeffrey Eugenides had never allowed anyone to do it because he was never satisfied with the film script. Sofia did that one on spec, really — she had no guarantee."

"The hero is so elusive. At the end you still don’t know whether Red is a person or a color. Announcements somehow contain opinion. I have never seen that done so well or so confidently. An epic poem. Plus very, very funny."

"The first film I would watch over and over again. It’s so full of joy and made with such seeming confidence and love. Louis Malle is one of my favorite directors, and it’s great to see him so well represented at Criterion."

I loved this book. It's about some stories I have read lots about but even so Viola gives fresh insight and wisdom. It was well-written full of challenging truth, beautiful grace and humble insight accurately portraying the amazing Gospel of Christ.

"Well, I mean, come on. This is a masterpiece. I don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said by many people way smarter than me, but it set a very high bar for brilliant satire, acting, cinematography, production design, everything."

"The main character of this novel is an adult man who lives with his mother, and who fancies himself too intelligent to participate in mainstream society or to hold down a normal job. Don’t we all have relatives like this? Well, I do!"

"This charming glimpse of the lives of the residents of a small Italian town paints a well-balanced picture of Fellini’s hometown. The characters are funny and unique. The stories are original. And the teenagers are as obsessed with sex as I was. :)"

"The rest of the Criterion catalog! My final cheat. Even though I’ve yet to see every film in the Criterion catalog, I’ve yet to see one that wasn’t well worth watching. Having said that, let me sneak in Rushmore. Love that movie!"
