Cannibal Savages
The Hills Have Eyes- is a disturbing psychological survival horror film. Wes did it again.
The plot: Wes Craven's cult classic about cannibalistic mountain folk, including the Carter family, who are on the trail of stranded vacationers in the arid Southwest Californian desert.
Craven based the film's script on the legend of cannibal Sawney Bean, which Craven viewed as illustrating how supposedly civilized people could become savage.
Wes Craven desired to make a non-horror film, following his directorial debut, The Last House on the Left (1972), because he saw the horror genre as constraining. However, he could not find producers interested in financing a project that did not feature bloody violence.
The film was initially given an X rating by the MPAA due to its graphic violence. Due to this, significant material was removed from Fred's death scene, the sequence where Mars and Pluto attack the trailer, and the last confrontation with Papa Jupiter.
Its a excellent movie.

This looked to be a sure winner. With a young popular cast, directed by Wes Craven and about werewolves what more could you want. Well quite a bit, it has some good moments but overall the plot is very weak and the SFX not as great as you would expect. It ends up being predictable and a bit camp.

My favorite of the sequels the return of ghost face too terrorize sydney prescott now in college. Again wes craven leaves u guessing as to who is wearing the mask with plenty of red herrings along the way with more nods to other films this time sequels good sequel goes down hill after this one

A movie that horror fans should watch

Wes craven's: new nightmare takes a different approach in the nightmare of elm street franchise. After freedy's dead bombed, but grossed money and killed Freddy. Wes craven came back with a new take. What if reality and fiction came togther? What if fiction happened in reality? What if Freddy hunts the actors and the director of a nightmare on elm street? What if reality and fiction collided? New nightmare is 2 hours long but its a perfect length of time to tell a story that horror fans should watch. Wes toke elements from real life and put them in the movie. Like heathers stalker, heathers husband and kid, wes craven's nightmares, earthquakes and more. This one to me is the best one in the franchise. I think horror fans should watch this film.

Watched last night it's rather good movie I know it's abit outdated with the effects but the makeup on swamp thing rather good. Hard to believe that wes craven directed this movie a dark super hero movie if u can call it that but he does a good job of it Some the acting can get over the top but that's my only issue with the movie next try and watch the recent swSmp thing TV show and return of swamp thing

Welcome home Sidney
Good to see this get good reviews from the critics and you can see why. A great entry in the series while being new also pays homage to the original. The have the usual humour and Horror film commentary that has featured before. Plenty of nods to the other films and to Wes Craven, along with some nice touches. It will keep you guessing until the mask comes off. If you love the original you'll definitely enjoy this.

Good Horror Premise
A fun idea for a new slasher premise, at least 3 sequels were made. The SFX do look a bit dated now and the gore effects, along with a lot of elements to the film do look a little low budget. With Wes Craven as exec producer and starring Robert Englund and cameos by Tony Todd and Kane Hodder adds a few nice touches for the horror fans. Andrew Divoff plays the evil Djinn very well and with a dark sense of humour. It is a bit cheesy but has a certain charm to it, one for gore fans and horror buffs will enjoy it more than most.

Off the bat, New Nightmare is a veritable treat for fans of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Six films deep, the cold hard fact is that this series had become so far removed from what it once was, for better or for worse, and this 7th entry into the franchise provided the shake up so sorely needed. It's meta as hell, taking place in the "real world" where ANOES is just a movie. It's a fun slasher that sees the beloved series bleeding over into reality, when an evil entity begins to terrorize the actual Heather Langenkamp, posing as the ever popular Freddy Krueger.
This whole premise is just great. The dialogue can be a bit on the nose sometimes, but it's honestly forgivable, considering that Wes Craven was trying to out-Scream himself before Scream even existed. Craven himself appears alongside the likes of Robert Englund and producer Rob Shaye as themselves. Krueger himself is thankfully a scary bastard once again. This version doesn't have time for quips or shenanigans, instead opting for general terrorising and murder (a particular highlight riffs on the infamous ceiling kill from the original, but adds to it in the best way) and is probably the scariest version of Freddy since the first two movies.
The plot is clever in its way that it connects back to the original 84 story, and deserves all the credit for having the balls to take the series in a new direction. It deserves bonus points for the commitment to using practical effects
New Nightmare is a wonderful example of what a somewhat stale series should do next, and further cements just how important Wes Craven was to the genre. It's an ambitious sequel that earns it status as a fan favourite.
