Otakugal (92 KP) rated The Book of Boba Fett in TV
Mar 21, 2022
As the show progressed we got to see Boba Fett make friends with a variety of people earning loyalty and beginning to start his own rulership. I had personally never seen a soft side to Boba Fett and seeing him willing to fight for the Sandpeople was really nice and a bit touching.
I think I would have preferred a little more action as Boba Fett as I knew was a mercenary for hire. But in this show we got to see more of how he thought and deals with problems. I do believe the second half of the season was more of an interlude to the Mandalorien than having much to do with Boba Fett and it felt like they combined the two shows.
Over all I believe it was a decent show and if I am honest, it did make me like Boba Fett a little more and understand him better.

Christina Haynes (148 KP) rated Being Alpha in Books

This book features the aftermath of what Luciana was trying to do, the whole summoning of demons. This time the demon she was trying to bring to our world is only a few moments away. The gang are back together in order to bring this demon down, except Meredith and Donovan as they are having their own problems. We get introduced to a new character along the way. This character has a pretty cool ability.
Like each book before this one we experience upset, drama and danger. All of which come together to create a good story.
I feel that this book didn't really need to happen if I'm honest, because that's what I want my reviews to be... honest. The reason I felt this is because we already defeated Luciana, we didn't then need to defeat what she did again. I like that this book was in this series and I do have mixed feelings about this and I don't know if it's because for the last seven weeks I've been reading the same series and I'm getting bored of it. Or because there is something after seven books that I don't really like about Tessa but I loved more with the other characters. This book was good, but it didn't need to happen. The buildup for the next book could of happened in the sixth and this one could of been the eighth book if that makes sense. I find that really this book should of been half of what it was, so maybe it could of just happened as a shorter story or tied in with the last book and made it long?
Anyway I am looking forward to the next book where we get to see more of Chris and his soul mate!!!

BobbiesDustyPages (1259 KP) rated Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) in Movies
Apr 25, 2019
I love heist movies and at its core that's what this was and I thought it did a really good job at it.
Look wise they could have found someone so much better for play are scruffy hero but the kid didn't do a bad job the more you watch the more Solo he becomes. I have always love Lando and have had the honour of meeting Billy Dee Williams a bunch of time and I have to give it to Donald Glover he did an amazing job playing him.
So all in all was this the Solo movie we deserved no not really, was it still a good movie, yeah it was.

Merissa (13585 KP) rated Smith's Corner: Faith & Fox (The Heartwood Series #4) in Books
Dec 3, 2021 (Updated Jul 9, 2023)
Kingsley, I knew was going to turn up. After all, he did in Ash and Alora's story so there's no way he wasn't going to show here. But then, we find out just how much of a sadistic jerk he is, and I really REALLY disliked him. And it was so true what Faith experienced. You can train and train, but when confronted by someone like that, sometimes you do freeze. That's where extra training comes in, to try and stop that reaction from happening.
The romance between Faith and Fox is hot and sweet. She has her concerns, to be fair, none of which have anything to do with Fox. And I loved how she could read him, giving him a voice when he didn't have one.
The thing I love about these books is the heartache you get. Because you know that it will be followed by all the love and romance you could ask for. Now, in true Jayne Paton style, although I thought it was Faith and Fox I wanted, she's moved me along, and now my heart is aching for Storm and Stone, and Hunter and Holden. So much pain!!!! I can't wait.
This is a brilliant series that now has an extra jewel in its crown. Definitely recommended by me.
