EVERYTHING! (0 more)
Not enough Tanisha! (0 more)
From Goodreads: 13-year-old girl from the '80s sees the first black woman win Miss America, which inspires her middle school to throw a pageant to boost moral. What could possibly go wrong?

Normally, I would say everything.

This book, nothing went wrong. In fact, Tami Charles did everything right.

You get an interesting main character. You have her going through real problems. You have this story take a look at a real problem with young black girls when it comes to what level of black skin is beautiful. You have major plot twists at every turn (And I don't take that sentence lightly.) And I actually don't hate the parental character this time (Because seriously, a lot of them try to make these characters awful for no reason at all). And you have the main character drop their walls to tell their vulnerable story to the audience.

In short, I love this book. One of the best middle grade and young adult novels I have ever read.

Not what I was expecting - but ok read
I did finish and enjoy this book to an extent. I read it as it's been raved about on social media and I don't think it deserved the hype. Was Good, but I skipped a lot of unnecessary detail and the end was disappointing

This is lovely story. I read this book early some time in year. It was a wonderful story and I really enjoyed it and it had my heart.

Daphne went looking for her twin sister who was adopted though out it did she get what she been searching for. She find a single father with a son. Does she get the family. Patrick give her a reason to stay. To find out you need to read it for yourself and decide.

Funny and Heartwarming
This movie follows the story of a couple who wants to adopt a child. They end up welcoming 3 children into their home one of which is a teenager.
This movie did a great job of showing what it is like to adopt a child, while still being light hearted and funny. It does have some serious moments that help you get invested in the family. Overall it is a great comedy that might encourage people to consider adoption.

Did the book proud
I was a fan of the comics so when I heard they were making a series I was apprehensive and excited. Would they ruin it or create a gem?

Well here it is and my god it is good. I can't wait for the next series. The casting is incredible, the story makes you very uncomfortable and let's be honest: if normal humans git super powers then this is what they would be like! Mainly arseholes.

The premise of this movie isn't entirely new. To be fair, it's actually been done several times since as well. However, few of those come close to the quality of Equilibrium.

Perfectly cast and made with the perfect combination of CGI and "real" effects. Equilibrium reminds us what it is to be human in a way that not many movies have been able to. That alone should motivate everyone to see this movie if they haven't. You'll appreciate that you did.

"Hey, storytellers: if you’re adapting a classic, this is film school 101. Never before or since (though I love Black Swan for trying) has anyone achieved what Powell and Pressburger did here, in terms of character and theme. Add the beautiful work of Jack Cardiff and you achieve something of which I, personally, can only hope to replicate a glimmer as a visual storyteller in comics and animation: Technicolor atmosphere that conveys immediate emotion and also has a lasting impact."

I loved the manga and the original anime when it came out. The characters and story are great. Tohru herself is very sweet and you can't help but be drawn to her and her kindness. The remake of Fruits Basket is excellent. They did a fantastic job keeping the spirit of the original story and the emotional vibe of the main story and interactions with the characters. It was great to watch through it again and remember what made this series so special.

I adore Kay Hooper and the Bishop/SCU/Haven stories. That being said, these Bishop Files novels don’t seem to have the same….punch, if you will, as the main stories. This was a disappointing end to the trilogy, and a disappointing installment in the Bishop/SCU universe.

Almost the entire book is the characters talking. Explaining what happened over the last two books and why, explaining what’s going to happen and why, explaining what they need to do to end the “war.” SO.MUCH.TALKING. Even when action moments took place, they were over far too quickly, and then – you guessed it – back to talking, because evidently they found it necessary to dissect every little moment. Not even Bishop or Miranda were excluded from this overly descriptive narrative. At this point in the series, did we really need a rehash of what everyone’s powers/abilities are?

The ending of this book made me say “What?? UGH. That’s how it’s ending?”

Looking forward to eventually returning to the main SCU storyline.

Zuko's "scar"
WTF???
No. No, this is not a good film in ANY way!
Just put a pin in the fact that this fill caused fans of the original series to die inside, this was a shit film!
The acting is so wooden, the script makes little sense, the pacing is so off and the one thing that should have been awesome, even if they went way off with the sorce materieal, was the bending. Which SUCKED! So hard! It was so underwhelming. Dude, did you even watch the series!?!?!
So, let's look at some of its other issues:
Aang. How do you pronounce it? We, here is a f***ing clue- WATCH THE SERIES! They say it hundreds of times!!!!
Zuko, one of the best written characters in an animated series with his signature scar that is so central to his journey as a character, reduced to a bit of sunburn!!!!!
How did you mess up Appa!?!?!?! He is a huge fluffy flying byson! He could have saved this film, but he was relegated to basically a background prop!
The bending. What the actual F**K was that!? Lots of dancing, then sometimes some elements move. If you have seen the series, there is no way this did not piss you off. If you have not, please go and watch at least 3 episodes, then tell me I am wrong about how crap this was.
You insulted Iroh, the best character ever that we all need as an uncle!
Just no. So much no. I hate you now.
