I loved this novel, it caught my eye in a bookshop in Cyprus and I really understand now why they say you don't choose a good book - it chooses you.
I think many of us can see a little part of ourselves in Emma Morley, especially those of us who have ever experienced unrequited love and intense friendships.
The chapters are cleverly organised year on year for twenty years which shows how people, and relationships change and evolve. This is a wonderfully written novel which made me laugh, and cry in parts. My only criticism is the ending is rather weak.

Playful Story
Sweet End to a Long Tale
The biggest reason why Toy Story is so successful is the masterful way they take adult topics and address them in fun loving children's films. This film was no different and turned out to be a beautiful closing to the overall franchise... If they actually choose to leave it be. I couldn't help but feel as though this film was made for the children who originally watched Toy Story as a kid, watching our toys also grow and move on without us.
ClareR (5566 KP) rated The Hawthorne Legacy in Books

After having read the first in this series on The Pigeonhole, I knew I’d have to read the rest (I’m a completionist 🤷🏼♀️)!! So I preordered this from the library. It didn’t disappoint, either. Avery is still trying to work out why she has been left the Hawthorne fortune, and someone is still trying to make sure that she doesn’t live to inherit.
The clues come thick and fast, as so the death threats. Avery is still trying to deal with the fact that her father wants to get his hands on the money too, and he will do all that he can to make sure that he gets ‘his share’.
Grayson and Jameson Hawthorne are still being their enigmatic selves, and Avery appears undecided as to which brother she likes best (why choose?!).
By the end of the book, a lot of questions are answered, but there are plenty more that need resolving.
I’ll be very interested to see what happens in the next instalment!

David McK (3188 KP) rated Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011) in Movies
Oct 11, 2020 (Updated Sep 18, 2022)
Your mission, should you choose to accept it ...
Fourth entry in the Tom Cruise headlined Mission: Impossible series, where he and fellow agents of the International Monetary Fund (that's why IMF stands for, right? Not Impossible Mission Force?) are on the run and seeking to stop a nuclear war following a failed mission in Russia that sees them disavowed.
This is the one where the standout sequence is Tom Cruise scaling the outside of the Burg Khalifa (the tallest building in the world) just before a sandstorm hits, and that introduces Jeremy Renner's CIA analyst, who also has a connection to Hunt's past.

Awix (3310 KP) rated The Black Hole (1979) in Movies
Feb 13, 2018
Big-budget attempt by Disney to cash in on the success of Star Wars; this sort of thing doesn't happen any more, obviously. Science vessel from Earth discovers fabled lost vessel from a generation before, mysteriously hanging over a black hole; they choose to investigate, eventually there are ray gun battles.
Distinctly odd movie which can't seem to decide whether it's a cheery George Lucas-style family-friendly adventure extravaganza with cute robots and zap guns aplenty, or a post-Stanley Kubrick tale of existential contemplation and all-pervading gloom. In the end the dark tone is mostly triumphant - bemusing final sequence reveals black hole is actually a gateway to hell, which may explain why this has been acclaimed as the most scientifically inaccurate movie in history. Decent cast try hard; very good score from John Barry helps keep things moving along.

They're Here
Contains spoilers, click to show
Poltergeist- is one of my favorite movies of all time and is one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
By the way this movie was PG, yes this movie was PG and it came from the director of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Its also produced by Steven Spielberg.
The sink sence, is so disturbing and gross and not sure why this movie wasnt rating R.
Also the clown sence is also a very scary moment.
Is some great memorable lines like:
"They're Here"
"You can't choose between life and death when we're dealing with what is in between."
"Poltergeist are usually associated with an individual. Hauntings seem to be connected with an area, a house usually."
Poltergeist is scary, terrorfying, frighting, horrorfying, memorable and overall a excellent supernatural horror film.
One that horror fans should watch.
