The continuing development and interactions of Lulu and Ozma (0 more)
The new villain in this book seemed to be added to the story to continue the series rather than being relevant to the plot (1 more)
A lot of time is spent in Kansas rather than in Oz but still the Kansas plot line seems underdeveloped and clouded
'War'
I'm uncertain on how I actually feel about this novel. To me, there was a lot left un-clarified, with there being certain chapters and scenes that could have been better utilised by developing backstory and deepening knowledge of particular characters and their histories. Although there was some action in this novel it did not feel enough for a novel with the word 'war' in its title. It was good to see characters that had small roles in the first and second novels become more pertinent and important in the series throughout this instalment. I valued this as it provided some variety from the depictions of Amy and the 'Wicked' ones.

Eliot, the troubled boy and his anarchic, dysfunctional foster-Gods...
Eliot is a boy with problems. A mum who is suffereing from crippling depression and mental health problems, a farm that is running to ruin since his grandparents died, and a school where the teachers know nothing about any of it. Facing repossession of his home and the looming threat of Social Services and being separated from his mum Eliot needs help: what he gets is a bunch of retired Greek Gods, minor deities and Zodiac characters who have spent millennia bickering over the small print and red-tape of running the Universe , or kicking their heels in cosy retirement.

After one of the Zodiac council crash-lands in his cowshed Eliot suddenly finds himself pulled into a quest to find power stones and defeat a wicked demon. Can he succeed, and can his squabbling new friends help him save his home & family?

A really engaging read for parents and kids.

Ghosts + love + death + dark back story = recipe for the best book ever!
The beginning is a little confusing, but it ties up well in the second half. (0 more)
A wicked ghost story that will satisfy every need!
I absolutely loved this novel!! I couldn't get enough of it and didn't want it to end. There's LGBTQ+ representation, romance, death, mystery, family drama, talk of suicide and domestic violence. I mean A Room Away From the Wolves has it all!

The only reason why this novel isn't sitting at a 5-star rating is that it was a little confusing in the beginning. I didn't quite understand the story-line and plot and the characters seemed to be lacking. But once I actually delved deeper into the novel, I got my answers and everything became clear yet again.

Until now, I've never experienced any difficulty in writing a review for any of Mr. Seward's books as his reads are diabolically wicked so I easily found the right words to say. However, this time around, the words that come to mind won't be allowed for use on Amazon.

I was pulled into a mind-altering cluster puck that delighted and tantalized my senses as the author's tale of evil and sexual depravity took me for a ride into the very bowels of Hell. All the characters in this read cross paths at one point or another which adds to the already well-written plot. As I read through this I kept thinking of that saying, "Be careful what you wish for."

The author mind pucked me and he didn't even use lubrication but I did not mind as I loved every single moment of it. I continue to look forward to more of this author's books.

Killing Eve - Season 2
Killing Eve - Season 2
2019 | Drama, Thriller
Not as good as first series
The first series of Killing Eve was really quite a nice surprise, wonderfully violent and humorous. The problem is that this second series is it’s more of the same and a poorer version at that. Yes its still rather violent and funny, but it just didn’t feel like anything new. If it wasn’t for Jodie Comer as the wonderful Villanelle, I don’t think I could’ve stuck with this series. She at least brings all of the humour and wicked violence which makes this series watchable. My main problem was Eve. I wasn’t her biggest fan to begin with, but I found her downright irritating and annoying in this series. Her indecision about what or who she wanted was getting rather stale by the final episode and the ending was just a bit meh, especially as anyone with a brain can figure out how it’ll pan out if they make a new series.

The Lion King- such a classic. Its perfect, amazing, fantasic and phenomenal and than thier just had to remake last year, live action style because of $$$ and have beyonce voice one of the charcters and have a second soundtrack with rap stars??? Anyways, the songs are so excellent, you have... "Circle of Life", "I Just Cant Wait to be King", "Be Perpared", "Hakuna Matata" and "Can't You Feel The Love Tonight".

The plot: This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult (Matthew Broderick) to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella).

A classic film.
