Watched today thought it was a bit on the silly and over the top plot parents turning on their children especially the one scene at the school where all the parents go psycho on their kids on school grounds. of course with nic cage doing his usual over the top acting it’s not bad little worth a rewatch

Anthology of Christmas or winter themed horror stories
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

I waited until closer to the holiday to read this book and, with all of the rushing involved with the season, forgot to post my review. The Christmas season may be over, but it is still winter, so grab a cup of hot chocolate and be prepared to be entertained.

Hark! The Herald Angels Scream by Edited by Christopher Golden is an "anthology of all-new short fiction from some of the most talented and original writers of horror today." Included are eighteen stories of Christmas or winter themed horror from authors: Kelley Armstrong, Christopher Golden, Elizabeth Hand, Michael Koryta, Sarah Langan, Joe R. Lansdale, Tim Lebbon, Sarah Lotz, Jonathan Maberry, Josh Malerman, Seanan McGuire, John M. McIlveen, James A. Moore, Sarah Pinborough, Angela Slatter, Scott Smith,Thomas E. Sniegoski, and Jeff Strand.

The cover quickly bring to mind "Tales from the Crypt", a campy, horror anthology television series with a memorable narrator, Crypt Keeper. The stories written could have been been portrayed in any of the episodes. As with "Tales from the Crypt", the stories in "Hark! The Herald Angels Scream" were creepy, funny, chilling, gruesome, dark, and definitely worth your time.

The stories are well written and stand alone.

"I grew up with the Little House characters - I loved Laura Ingalls Wilder's books as a kid. Little House in the Big Woods is written for a younger child, and as you mature, the books do too. I was confused when my daughter did not like them at all. -- in Redbookmag.com I started reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House series when I was 8. The drama of the series was enhanced by the fact that I knew these were true stories – the hardships and pleasures of the pioneer life she described had actually happened to a little girl, and not only had she survived it, but she had grown up to write about it too. The most emotionally wrenching and enthralling of the series was “The Long Winter,” a depiction of the winter her family endured in 1880-81 while they were living in South Dakota. The winter blizzards lasted seven long months, during which the railroads stopped running to their town, and her family was trapped inside their house, subsisting on a very meager diet of potatoes and brown bread. I can still remember the passages where Ingalls described twisting hay into sticks all day for fuel for the fire, and her worry that they would finally run out of hay and they would freeze to death. It kind of made my pre-adolescent worries pale by comparison."

I'm going to be resharing this a lot these days, or at least until I can get it done. Winter break is starting on the 16th for me, so I'm going to be able to get caught up soon. If you do help, I'm doing a shoutout and a follow (if I'm not following you already) on Smashbomb and Tumblr, plus a Harry Potter character moodboard on Tumblr for you.

Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) created a post

Alright Alright!! I've finally decided to create a list and bother organizing stuff over the upcoming Winter Break. Since I'm still in school, it's been really stressful for me, so I've not had time to do anything. However, I've finished this insanely long list of books I want to read, but most of them aren't on Smashbomb yet. Just bear with me as I try putting them on the site and then throwing them into a list. If anyone wants to help, just message me with your email, and I'll share what books are on my list with you in a document. Thanks!!
