Merissa (12194 KP) rated Six Wishes in Books

Told from the first perspective in present time, you see through Karyn's eyes as each of the characters tell their story, and see how they interconnect and overlap with others. Each of them has history, some of which is in the past, some of which is carried with them.
This was a gentle read that I read in one sitting. Whether the things that happen could ever happen in 'real' life remains to be seen. Still, this was worth the read and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

The Author did a wonderful job with the character and matching them up but doing in a way that would happen natural to find out how it all happen. It was nice reading about them all and not confuse me while reading it. I will want to read books 1-5 understand completely soon though. I am going to be reading 5 "Twenty Wishes now."
Kristin (149 KP) rated Savannah's Story in Books
Dec 7, 2018
I rather enjoyed this little children's book. It tells the story of Savannah, a bored little girl with sisters who don't have the time to play with her. She then wishes she could be in her dollhouse, and lo and behold, it happens! She plays with her dolls, her teddy bears, and has a grand old time. But soon, she starts to miss her sisters, wishing she could go back to them, and she realizes that her sisters are her true friends.
I really liked the ending message of the story, that as long as you believe in magic, it's all around you. I've always felt that way, and it's a great thing for children to believe in, especially those with large imaginations. I would definitely read this story to my kids (if I had any), but I enjoyed reading it, as well.

CJ (8 KP) rated The Bookshop (2017) in Movies

I was thoroughly delighted by the scenery and costumes in this movie. The stage was set very well. I’m a fan of Bill Nighy as a rule, but I can honestly say that this is the best role I’ve seen him in.
This isn’t a particularly feel good movie. If you’re looking for a Hallmark ending, keep looking. But it does have a few laughs, in that British small-town movie way, and I found it well worth my time. Especially in regards to Emily Mortimer’s and Bill Nighy’s performances.
Jamie (57 KP) rated Parenting From the Inside Out in Books

The last chapter a new door opened up for me, a chance to help a 12 year old girl and the last chapter gave me some relevant reading material and journaling opportunities for me to work with her and myself. It's amazing how God does that. I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to learn about how our brains develop in children, ourselves, and how we relate to each other. AWESOME! is all I have to say about "Parenting From The Inside Out" By Daniel J Siegel and Mary Hartzell.
