Creepy but cute and oh so Gaiman
I just always love Gaiman's children's books because even though they are meant for kids adults can also easily enjoy them and I really think it's because he does not simplify the stories.
I really wish I would have been able to read The Wolves In The Walls when I was a kid because I know I would have just loved it! The story is weird and cute but also creepy with very unique art.

David McK (3623 KP) rated Wolverine: Origin II in Books

Poor old Wolvie: he never seems to catch a break.
Early 20th-century (pre WW1) set story about James Hewlitt, the man who would become Wolverine who -as this starts - is living wild in the woods.
When his family of wolves is slaughterd by a bear, however, and when he then kills said bear, this sets in motion a chain of events that sees Wolverine being hunted, eventually captured, put on show and experimented upon ...
Nice art, so-so story.

Dustin Hoffman Masterclass
From the period of Hoffman's career when he could do no wrong. His portrayal of a man from youth to extreme old age is riveting. Never dull for a minute and very educational / thought provoking. Has dated some, especially in it's own political subtext, but still something of a little seen classic. If you like Dancing With Wolves and or Mr. Nobody, give it a try!

Auburn (57 KP) rated Mermaid Trouble (Fairy Tales Hunters, #1) in Books
Apr 10, 2019
Mermaids, fae, wolves, and apples abound in this new take on fairy tales. What if a fairy tale was happening and only a hunter could stop it? Would you step up and be that hunter?
Lana is a surf loving human lie detector who gets roped into hunting a fae creating fairy tales. With a sword, a hot fae, and a boyfriend on the side this book is a must read. The characters are all well developed and lovable. You find yourself needing to read the next book right after finishing this one.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Marrying the Rancher in Books
Mar 5, 2018
Tandy Graham leaves the army to to look after her son, Scott on the Arizona ranch she inherited after the death of her father. Life becomes quite hostile from the other ranchers after biologist Wyatt returns to track the wolves he released a few years previous.
This is the first book I've read from Roz Denny Fox and would certainly read more from this author. Marrying the rancher is a slow building clean romance with a hit of suspense and fans of Mills and Boon Cherish will love it.
