This book was wonderful. It is written in such detail that you can just imagine being there. The characters are real and relatable. Christine and Isaac face so much hardship. Between the stations they hold to the religions they follow, they face such trouble in being together. The determination these two show is inspiring. Christine is followed more than Isaac, and her story is inspiring. The War takes this story to new light. I thought this was going to be a book about romance in hard times. While it was that, it was also a book of survival and hope in in a country ravaged by war. It was a new view on the horrors that the Germans and the Jews faced. Bombings, death, persecution, love, survival, and hope for a better future are all part of this story. This story was truly a marvelous read about a horrible time. This story provides so much emotion that at times I was so happy while others just broke my heart and brought me to tears. This certainly was an emotional read, but that just makes this an even better story. This was a story filled with love, loss, hope, and a world war that changes the lives of so many.
This is the second book I have read by this author and each book is amazing in detail and written in such a way that you can't help but be sucked into the story. I am so glad I was able to review this story for such a talented author.

Merissa (12943 KP) rated She's the One Who Cares Too Much (War Stories of the Seven Troublesome Sisters #2) in Books

She is the second sister, the one who likes being a teacher and a mother, but then she finds she has a special ability that is both feared and not as all-powerful as first thought. We follow her through her own trials and tribulations as she finds her place in the world, where she thinks of her wishes and dreams, never knowing if they will survive the war to come true.
This book is very different from the first, as it should be. I loved seeing the same events happening through Coral's eyes, giving me a much fuller idea of what was happening.
There are characters I loved, and others I really wasn't sorry to see the back of! I honestly can't wait to read Sulphur's story, which comes next. The ending still felt abrupt, but I was ready for it this time. Now, it just leaves me wanting more. Absolutely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

I’m really torn with this series. On the one hand, I enjoy the history we get as we delve into another aspect of World War II. It really makes the World War part come into focus. The mystery is good, with plenty of twists and action without being too over the top. Billy is a fantastic main character who matures a little here once again. We don’t see much of the supporting characters, but the new characters are strong and help pull us into the story. Unfortunately, I feel like the story and characters are drowning in too much detail. It might be me since these books take me longer to read than I am used to. But I can’t help but think a little editing would make me enjoy these books more because there are definitely parts I do enjoy.
