Last man standing
A pretty decent if violent action film with backing from the WWE. Featuring Steve Austin and a few other faces from the wrestling scene. The story is pretty good, although it starts to get a bit repetitive as it goes on. Reminded me slightly of the @The Running Man (1987) and Battle Royale. Overall a lot better than I expected and Vinnie Jones is good as the bad guy, as always.

Amazing, with Feelings...
353. The Peanut Butter Falcon. An amazing movie! We meet a guy named Zak, he has Down Syndrome, lives in a nursing, no family, has Bruce Dern as a roommate and he loves wrestling, so much so, that he plans to break free of his forced housing, go on the run to The Salt Water Redneck's Wrestling School, and with the help of some friends at the home... hint: Bruce Dern... he breaks free. While on the run, he hides on a boat that belongs to Tyler, a fisherman, hobo with a shotgun, and also on the run from a few locals, because Tyler may or may not have destroyed several thousand dollars worth of their equipment. ONce he discovers Zak crashing on his boat, hears his tale, Tyler decides to help him out with the journey. Zak of course has someone looking out for him as well, in this case the nursing home bypasses authorities and just sends a lone aide, Eleanor, out to find him. A touching tale of two guys on the run that form a friendship that feels more like family. Filmbufftim on FB

Where the big boys come to play
Watching reruns on the WWE network WWE main rival during the Monday night wars when wcw nitro was beating raw every Monday night due to the popularity of the new world order and Hollywood Hulk Hogan but over time it got stale and repetitive and silly due to stars egos eventually wcw was brought up by WWE and no more nitro which was a shame. Still classic 90s wrestling nwo for life

David McK (3162 KP) rated Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) in Movies
Jul 11, 2019 (Updated Jan 14, 2020)
A sequl (of sorts) that nobody asked for, I have to say that this was better than expected!
Updating the board game of the original to a video game, this sees four teens on detention sucked into the world of Jumanji, taking on the appearance (or avatars) of Dwayne Johnson (perhaps better known to wrestling fans as The Rock), Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black and having to complete the Jumanji test to return to the 'real' world, bondign along the way (as is customary in these types of films) and learning more about themselves and each other.

Been wanting to see this for long time as a fan of wwe wrestling for nearly 30 years and been a fan of Paige the wrestler since her nxt days was I disappointed no. I know this a fictonised account of her career just to make a Movie
But what movie Florence Pugh was perfect as Paige with support from nick frost and Lena Headey and Vince Vaughn as her coach. But no way can I leave out the rock he knows to make an entrance overall thumbs up from me. Now To go back home and watch the watch the original channel 4 documentary

David McK (3162 KP) rated Moana (2016) in Movies
Jun 9, 2020
Typical Disney musical adventure, with Moana of the title the daughter of a Polynesia chieftain who sets off on a quest across the ocean waves in search of the demigod Maui (voiced by none other than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) in order to convince him to return stolen property to lift a curse.
The big draw is, of course, The Rock (to give him his wrestling name), whose character initially starts out as unlikeable before. by the end of the movie, not being as bad as originally thought.
I also had to chuckle at the "Daughter of a chieftain. Cute animal sidekick. You're a Princess" (to paraphrase somewhat) line that he came out with!

Universe now feels more real, with PPVs having upto 14 matches. (2 more)
Newer roster
More modes
Buggy (2 more)
DLC nonsensical
Some bad renders
Like a Episode of Raw
So I buy WWE games annually, have done for years. Upon on hearing the reviews for this year's game I waited for Black Friday.
I am glad I did, while I enjoy playing this (really ever play universe mode) it is really buggy. The game is not an improvement on previous in a sustained a d meaningful way.
It is fun now there are patches a the roster does make this a good game, if u are a fan of the women's movement in wrestling. As large number of new faces are included this year.
DLC is a joke however, I feel short changed. With the inclusion of WWE originals. I feel that either 2k and visual concepts wanted to make quick buck or hit a wall in development. Yes I got Chyna and Hogan. However the rest of the Originals content seems like an acid. Who needs demonic Finn Balor or wasteland Samoa Joe. I get what they went for. Turning the wacky of wrestling up to 11.
However with no new characters, this just feels lazy. Why not include legends like LOD and Warlord in the wasteland DLC or Boogeyman/ Gangrel in the Bump In The Night.
So overall WWE2K20 is not the worst game I have played. However it has made me question my devotion to the franchise, should it continue

Jessica Erdas (463 KP) rated Warm Bodies in Books
May 16, 2018
I have had this book sitting on my nightstand for far too long. My to-read list seems to grow faster than I allow myself time for. I finally picked this up and read it in a day. I generally like to read a book before I watch the movie version but did the opposite with this book. It's fun to see the differences between the two but I definitely enjoyed the book version better, which is usually how it goes. Isaac Marion did an amazing job wrestling with the complexities of what it means to be human and to survive in a world that seems to want anything but. Well written and wholly entertaining, I definitely recommend giving this a read.
