I am not a huge fan of war stories but this one was gripping and very well written. She went into the mind of Jack and pulled out every nightmare and everything he went through and wrote it into this amazing short story. It was amazing and the writing was superb and wonderful.

Danger and romance set after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD as we meet the slave Hadassah and gladiator Atretes. Strong characters, story, and writing kept the pages flying by.

Kristy H (1252 KP) rated I'm with Stupid in Books

This book had a couple of bright points, and picked up a bit for me at the end, but I still found myself wincing as I was reading it. The story and writing style just didn't work for me, and I found the majority of the characters to be nothing but obnoxious.
Erika (17789 KP) rated Tomb Raider Volume 1: Spore in Books

I'm glad this volume was a departure from the 'Yamatai' thing. The writing was a little better, but it was predictable. I feel like these Tomb Raider comics love zombies. Even though it was better than the last series, I'm definitely not going to waste any more time reading further Tomb Raider comics.

Another John Green fave
Green does an excellent job writing a believale female protagonist who struggles with her mental health. If you like his other books, you'll like this one too. I enjoyed reading it. I was laughing and crying throughout most of it.

Wow! For such a short piece of writing, this one packs a punch!
Loose ends from A Dark and Twisted Tide are tied up, we get an insider peek at Joesbury's undercover world, and the Lacey/Mark drama is propelled massively forward.
The wait for the next installment is going to seem interminable!

Not your average horror story
This is an amazing horror story following a group of 11 year old boys in the 60’s, it’s filled with adventure, comraderie, and terror. One of the best horror stories I’ve read in a long time!

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated A Crafter Quilts a Crime (A Handcrafted Mystery #3) in Books

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked everything in this book except the main character Sammy.
The writing is great as is the mystery but Sammy just rubbed me the wrong way with her willingness to obstruct justice.
