May not get the review of Half The World out when expected as my brother has only gone and broken his femur so I'm a little distracted and find myself unable to get into any kind of book or writing at the moment. I'll try my best to have it up by Christmas though.

It was love from the first sentence. I will now be seeking out more of Backman's writing, the style is just so darn readable. It is snarky, and funny, and heartwarming, and heartbreaking.

This book was a bit artsy for me.
The writing style was wonderful, very descriptive & dramatic. The sentences are wonderfully crafted too. It was the plot that made me find this book lacking. It was pretty dull all the way through. Even the final showdown in the woods with Luce & Bud fell flat with me.

Second installment down! Happily, it was as easy & enjoyable to,plow through as the first. I still hold firm to my belief that Dexter is one of the best characters in modern writing. This book finds Dexter & his Dark Passenger tangling with & even admiring the handiwork of a monster even more horrific than he is.

how do you spell cheesy plot, lame shallow characters, and bad writing? t-a-s-t-e-o-f-m-a-g-i-c.

only got through the third chapter.

although I'll admit... having your ass hang out through the window and having to be pulled into the bathroom while drunk is pretty funny.

Obviously, this is a novelization of Rogue One. The novelizations typically give neat background information and such, which is why I read them. I thought Freed did well with this one, he is very adept at writing this kind of war story (see Battlefront). It's worth a read if you're a fan of the film.

This type of book is not really my thing. The writing was good and the story was good, but overall I was a bit bored and confused and really noone won in the end. The ending was a very good twist though. Overall, even though it wasn't my thing I would recommend it to others.
