Roxanne (13 KP) rated Secret Vampire, Daughters of Darkness, and Enchantress (Night World, #1-3) in Books
Nov 14, 2018
An overall good read...took a bit of time to get used to the writing style so couldn't get into the book during the first story but after that I got more involved in the stories. I found it to be a little too 'fluffy' for me, however, I thought the stories were a good idea. So a good light read.

This book and sucks you in so quickly that you get lost in ren and dellas world. Pepper Winters writing forced me to get so attached to all of the characters and I just fell in love with them all. The story is brilliant even if it is a little far fetched. The best story that I have ever read!!

Beware of the Sugar Bowl
This is a great book! I read it in one of my college lit classes, and fell in love with Shirley Jackson's writing. I can't give a review without spoiling this whole book but it is so worth the read. It deals a lot with mental illness and the affects of a society on outcasts.

This is one of those YA novels that I wish I'd have never paid full price for... The premise was predictable, and eye-roll inducing. The one thing I remember is how much I hated the writing.
The movie is actually better than this novel. I suggest skipping the book and just watching the movie with the kid that plays young Han Solo.

WOW!
I fi ished The Hate U Give on Christmas Eve after it say on my bookshelf for a year! I'm so glad I picked it up as it has been one of my favourite books I've read in 2019.
Very detailed and inspirational piece of writing. It really makes you think about violence and race crime in our society today.

Fell in love immediately
Girls of Paper and Fire is captivating, mind blowing, tragic, and above all, realistic (even in a fantasy setting). It explores themes of sexual assualt, violence, war, imperialism, as well as women veing attracted to other women in a patriarchal setting.
