Revenge
By Martina Cole
⭐️⭐️⭐️
He thought he was invincible. He was wrong.
REVENGE by the 'undisputed queen of crime writing' (Guardian) and Sunday Times No.1 bestseller Martina Cole is an unflinching novel that exposes a world that many would rather ignore...
Michael Flynn is untouchable. He's the boss of a dangerous empire, the biggest the criminal world has ever seen. No one crosses him, no one gets in his way, and everyone does what he says - including the law.
But you don't get to where Michael is without making enemies. Someone is out for revenge. And it's best served when least expected.
I liked this but it wasn’t my favourite of hers I found some of it too similar to some of her other stories and yes I know she has a type and way of writing but this wasn’t as good as those she’s written before. Although it was brutal and possibly more so than others.

AHERB (6 KP) rated Kushiel's Scion in Books

Superb Enticing
Jacqueline Carey gives us an exceptional series and is a gifted author . When one reads the Kushiels series the descriptive writing has you feeling like you are there with the characters. You see the green mountainsides and feel the dry desert heat. This is an enjoyable historical fiction book with a lot of sexuality: about a different culture. The series of books has depth and character development with a wonderful historical fiction background.

Chilling
It’s atmosphere that the author created was amazing and really drawled you in! The characters and animals had real personality and made you really connect with the book! I think that this was one of the most beautiful books I have read in a long time. Made me very ‘Toasty’
Lizzie Jeffreys (2 KP) rated Red Hood and the Outlaws: Volume 5 in Books
Nov 19, 2017
With gorgeous artwork, emotional writing, action packed fighting scenes and unnerving plot twists, the fifth volume of this fantastic comic series will leave readers on the edge of their seats and gasping for more.
Unfortunately one of the more underrated of DC's series, Red Hood and the Outlaws is perfect for those who appreciate dark humour, magic, and love in all its forms; as well as gratuitous well-earned and specacular butt whoopings.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Hello America in Books

I'm slowly trudging through all of Ballard's books, and I really wanted to like this one. It kind of just left me feeling sick at the end. It was amusing that the president was Charles Manson. The description of all of the weirdness of Las Vegas after 'civilization' left was haunting and completely creepy. I feel like the makers of Blade Runner 2049 read prior to writing the script. I knew it seemed familiar!
Erika (17789 KP) rated The Stranger In The Woods:The Extraordinary Story Of The Last True Hermit in Books
Jan 2, 2018
Normally, I love journalists writing non-fiction, but this was awful. I was completely annoyed reading this book, thank god it was a short one. It tells the story of the 'last hermit', and the guy was just not likeable nor compelling. By midway, I didn't care why he decided to be a hermit. That's when I should have stopped reading. But, I didn't. Overall: woof. I'm never reading anything by Finkel ever again.
