"Who can really understand Bowles’ writing? Well, some people can, but not I. Nonetheless I love it, and it has the irrefutable hyper-reality of dreams. Only a very few other writers (Denis Johnson is one) have used American English with such exactitude and so cracklingly, have observed so fearlessly the emotional abysses that confront us, and are so deliriously funny. Claire Messud’s introduction to the recent Ecco edition is eloquent and insightful."

"Bowie has been a huge inspiration to me with regard to creating concept albums, new worlds and alter egos. When I heard this song for the first time, it took my music tastes to another level; I wanted my own writing to be just as interesting and clever. I once performed a cover of ‘Moonage Daydream’ with one of my favorite bands, Of Montreal. The song remains a source of inspiration for me."

Far be it from me to say ill things about Clive Barker's writing but this one went NOWHERE! I got about 2% in, and man, I wanted to throw it out in to oncoming traffic (which, for the record, could not have happened, as I was reading it on my Kindle)! I don't know what he was thinking, but I can clearly understand why hardly anyone mentions IMAJICA when talking about Clive Barker's "good" books!

I- uh... idk what to even say about this one. Wow. You're best going into it with no information, thats what I did and I'm glad. The plot twists were incredible. I did figure one of them out about halfway through but the story is phenomenal. The writing style is different than anything I've read recently, but in a great way. The depictions of emotions were gripping. Really liked this one.

When I bought this, I thought it was paranormal but its actually very much a fantasy from the writing style, which I couldn't get into, to the world building and the characters. I'm not a very big fantasy reader at all but if the style had been a lot more modern I might have managed to finish this because Drac seemed like quite the character though the Princess did nothing for me.

Hmm...I expected this to end differently but considering it's a trilogy, I guess there wasn't any other way of writing it. Maybe it means that Tyler can clean up his act and make himself a better person for Eden to be with.

I thnk I'm interested enough in Tyler and Eden's romance to read the rest of the series.

P.S. I think Tiffani and Jake are perfect for each other.

This was the first Seth Grahame-Smith novel I read, at the beginning of the era of re-writing classics with horror aspects edited in.
I absolutely loved this novel, I'm not a huge fan of Lincoln, and it kind of made me like him more. The way Grahame-Smith wrote this was intriguing, and I really loved all of the characters. It's fast-paced, and it holds up when re-read.
