Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Sweet Evil (Sweet, #1) in Books
Jan 6, 2021
I'm not normally a fan of long books as, to me, they start to drag after a while and I become bored. Luckily, this was an exception to that.
I really liked this (mostly, anyway).
The "mostly" part because of the lack of a HEA. Yeah, I know it's in a trilogy but I've been left with little hope after that ending. I really need to go buy the second book right now to see how it all works out (with a HEA or at least hope of one for the last book)
I liked that it was detailed and quite steamy for a YA book. I read books for the romance aspect and I ADORED that in this. It was almost forbidden but they couldn't help themselves and were drawn inexplicably to each other.
I love Kaiden!

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Being Jamie Baker (Jamie Baker, #1) in Books

4.5 stars.
Now this is a YA book that I got sucked in to, which is good after my last two failures.
This is my third book by the author and all of them have had either a 4.5/5 rating. I just love the authors writing and will now be making it a mission to read all of her work. She has now become a "favourite" author and I will be giving her her own shelf.
At the start of this I had no idea how it was going to play out but within those first few chapters I had started to fall for Ryan. He was so charming and nice and persistent in regards to Jamie and I loved it. What else can I say??
I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Good characters (2 more)
Great plot
Interesting world
Great but lacks subtlety
Another one I've picked up from various bookstagrams and actually I think this one nearly lives up to the hype. The story is good and I really want to learn more about Erilea, I have already started the second book to carry on the story.
Celeana is a good character and so great to have such a kick ass female protagonist. I think some of her back story needs to be uncovered and quickly, its quite frustrating that this hasn't been explored already. I also find she sometimes goes through emotions very quickly.
I love the dynamics between characters, although I find some of the writing very obvious (perhaps due to YA genre).
I didn't see some of the events coming and I am really excited for the next book.

Russ Troutt (291 KP) rated The Devil All the Time (2020) in Movies
Sep 23, 2020
Brothers and sisters, let me preach to ya for just a moment, and give praise to The Devil All The Time. I haven't read the good book, that the screenplay is based off of, but I can tell you the movie is great; one of my favorites I have been able to bear witness to this year. Amazing perfromances from the killer cast of Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgard, Haley Bennett, Kristin Griffith, Jason Clarke, Riley Keough, Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan, and many more. There may be a lot of no-good sons of bitches out there in this world, but I can tell you who's not not one of them and that's Antonio Campos, the director of The Devil All The Time. He photographed one helluva movie and I cannot wait to see more of his work.

*I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*
I'd been looking at this book for a while. I've recently noticed a love for YA Contemporary Romances. And this is that.
I liked it but I thought that their relationship progressed a bit too quickly in the beginning. One minute they were meeting for the first time and several pages later they were kissing and touching each other. I get that they'd been watching each other for years and felt like they knew each other but I kinda missed that awkwardness of it all--though admittedly that bit came later with the "family planning" aisle.
I'm still feeling torn over my rating of this. I wasn't blown away by it at all but the romance and connection between them, once it really got going was really sweet.
