Full of action, suspense and twists The Anchor is pretty awesome. It's a must read thriller that will keep you guessing all the way through. I was stuck between being adamant that I knew who was behind things to not having a clue.
I do think there could have been a few extra details added to make things 100% neatly packaged but it's also fun having a bit of food for thought.
This one definitely had me getting lost in the pages, which I love doing, especially when I escape housework!
Grab snacks, drinks and a comfortable spot and enjoy. Just make sure to tell your friends about it and get them over to discuss it and theories as you read it.

Released by the CIA Ethan sets out on cleaning up his own personal affairs wanting to build a relationship with daughter Zooey (Steinfeld) through his ex-wife Christine (Nielsen) after years of times apart working. With everything going badly Ethan knows that it will become difficult but when fellow agent Vivi Delay (Heard) offers him a chance to live longer Ethan comes out of retirement for one last assignment.
Thoughts on 3 Days to Kill
Story â The story for this film tries to balance a dying manâs final months with his family and his CIA life that he has meant to have walked away from. The CIA story does feel very generic of this modern day slick hitman style which is all fine. The dying manâs wish story ends up feeling like an awkward comedy in places. The story also feels very long and doesnât seem to end up deciding if it wants to be serious or not.
Action/Thriller â The action is all very good and entertaining with the opening sequence looking like it set the tone but in the end if just turns into another slick hitman film.
Characters/Performance â I canât find anything wrong with Costnerâs performance as well as Steinfeld or Neilsen, it is the Heard performance that doesnât make sense because she doesnât suit the character and the character doesnât suit the movie. The movie tries to make all the characters fit into everyday experiences but for some reason Vivi character is wildly over the top for no apparent reason.
Settings â The settings are mostly all in Paris which all works for the film which is trying to make us have a location we want to visit but showing that crime can happen there I guess.
Special Effects â The Special effects are mostly used for the action sequences and they all come off to the level you need them too.
Final Thoughts âThis is an overlong action thriller that ends up getting caught up in the middle of comedy too often for its own good.
Overall: Solid action film that starts too strong for its own benefits.

While this may sound like the set up for many of the books I normally read, it isnât long before the plot branches off in some thrilling new directions. Those looking for a thriller will not be disappointed with the action scenes, yet the mystery is tied up perfectly. Since Van is out of town for much of this book, the series regulars are reduced to cameos, yet we still get some updates on them. The new characters are fully developed, and Van continues to be a complex main character. I appreciated how this book works in issues that vets face without slowing down the book by preaching. Like the earlier books in the series, this one does have flashbacks, but they donât focus on any particular time in Vanâs life while still helping us appreciate the events unfolding in Vanâs life currently. This book has more language and violence than I typically read, but it fits for a thriller and never gets excessive. This was another compelling entry in the series. Anyone looking for a great thriller will be pleased this picked up this book.
