Wednesday Addams smiles!!
The second (and better) of the two 1990 big screen adaptations of The Addams Family, this is the one also starring Joan Cusack, and with Uncle Fester falling in love with her 'Black Widow' serial killer as Morticia and Gomez welcome a new addition to the family, much to the jealousy of Wednesday and Pugsley, who end up off to a summer camp.

Wednesday Addams. Smiling.

That's probably the best scene of the film: either that, or the Thanksgiving Dinner stage play.

Stellar adaptation of a very good game
Some adaptations stick too closely to their source material for their own good.

Some are barely recognisable.

This is neither. Based in the video game of the same name by Naughty Dog (as an aside, I actually always preferred their Uncharted games over TLOU), this sticks incredibly closely to the source game, although there are some noticeable differences (particularly in the third episode, which Joel and Elly are barely in).

For this unfamiliar with the game, it is set in the USA after an apocalyptic event that sees those bit turn into zombie-like creatures (note: they're not technically zombies), with Joel (here, played by The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal) hired to accompany Elly on a dangerous cross-country trek, as she is immune to the disease.

Initially distant, along the way he grows closer and closer to Elly, leading to a finale where you're not sure he has done the right thing or not ..

Superbly cast and directed, this is definitely one of the better adaptations I have ever seen. Of course, it helps that the original is also held up as one of the best narrative games ever created ...

Wow! Just Wow!
I am always skeptical of movie adaptations. Most of the time, there are many things that do not hold up to the book and make the movie hard to watch. That was not the case with this movie! The writers and directors did an amazing job at staying as accurate to the book as possible. They really brought it to life. I was sobbing almost the entire movie because of how moving and powerful the acting was!

Actors bring this classic comic book adaptation to life and give it a good story backing. (0 more)
The fight scenes are under choreographed and it shows in the miniature mistakes. (0 more)
Heaton is on point as Nicholson gives good account
In an era where comic adaptations are starting to become a thing again, this attempt at barman leaves little to imagination. Both Keaton and Nicholson give extremely good performances on what was a fairly lacklustered storyline. All a bit predictable. That being said, the performance of Nicholson took it above and beyond.
