Ok, but not the most thrilling.
As a huge fan of John le Carré, and have enjoyed many other film/TV adaptations of his work, I couldn't wait for this one!

Unfortunately, on screen it felt particularly dull. Series like The Night Manager, and even the early TV adaptations featuring Sir Alec Guinness, this series failed to capture the mix of excitement and suspense the book provides.

The book was better but Meryl is fire
Even though I liked the book better, this is one of the few film adaptations I really enjoy.

Seen as they’ve just added The Dark Tower on Sky Cinema, i felt the need to share this. By far one of the worst adaptations I’ve ever seen, of an absolutely epic book series. Just dire.

Stephen King let them make this?
I'll start off by saying I knew I was going to hate this film. From the moment I heard of the casting and then saw the first trailer. I get the justification for them making this film completely different (i.e. Horn of Eld - but was that even in the film?!), but for me it just doesn't work.

The book series is a fantasy masterpiece, but they appear to have made a standalone Dark Tower film pulled together with a vague mishmash of characters and ideas from the entire book series. It just doesn't work, especially not in a paltry 90 minutes. This is just far too different from the books - the characters are undeveloped, their motives are unclear. You almost have to have read the books to get an understanding of the characters as it just doesn't come across in this. Casting for me was poor too. McConaughey and Elba are fantastic actors but it doesn't show in this, they're let down by a poor script and a poor plot.

My only hope for this film is that it prompts those who haven't read the books to pick them up and realise how awesome they are.

Great creature design and effects
Great creepy atmosphere
One of the best game to film adaptations. It's very odd, strange and creepy but altogether a good horror film that may surprise you.

A little bit of lame acting, but that is to be expected for the time (0 more)
Classic Horror
Standing as one of the better Steven King adaptations and later a horrible musical, this movie rocks!

As YA adaptations go, this isn’t quite The Notebook, but its core demographic of teen girls will likely be more than satisfied.

When I first read the novel, Lost Stars, I had mixed feelings... the second time, I loved it.
This is the first of three manga adaptations of Lost Stars. The art is good, and the characters look like I imagined them from the novel.

I was just creating a list of books, and while I selected 'books', all media was coming up. This, of course, was problematic since there are so many film/show adaptations of books. Is there a reason all media now appears, and not just the chosen category?

Great Start!
I have seen so many adaptations of Spider-Man, I honestly wondered what they were going to do here for the MCU. It’s the same mythos, but it’s already been established. We’ve already moved on from it, and we really see how Peter lives his life being Spider-Man.

I am seriously in love with these books. They AREN'T supposed to be word for word movie adaptations of the movies .those already exist in various forms mind you. These are special, delightful dark takes on Disney, not unlike the Twisted Tales I only wish they would number the spines.
