This, I felt, is really a movie of two parts: we have the CGI and action portions of the movie (set in the future, and largely featuring cyborgs), unfortunately tied to a somewhat lacklustre 'Young Adult' love story.

Oh, and if anybody ever wants a perfect example of 'Chekov's gun' (i.e. introduce a plot element early on that must go off later on) look no further than this: the 'Battle Ball' rollerball elements.

It's for Kids
Look, it's not Citizen Kane. But kids movies are usually not great, and kids Christmas movies are especially bad. This was actually enjoyable, especially because of the voice acting.

If you are an adult, I can't recommend watching more than once. But as a parent, I look forward to watching this over the Jim Carey version ever year.

She is...
This is a book about all Maggie O'Farrell's near death experiences and finally one of her daughter's. Beautiful poetic and hugely honest, although it's the brushes with death that it charters it is the surviving life that flows from the pages. It is a book about being a women, of becoming an adult, of having air in your lungs and another day to love.

I'm not sure what it was about this. The storyline and characters...or how closely it resembled Pride and Prejudice (I'm thinking of the film: the Keira Knightley one since it's the only one I've seen). But I really liked it. In fact I pretty much devoured it

It was definitely a fun young adult, modernised version and I wouldn't mind reading more like this or more books by the author.

I've had this book on my kindle for years, along with another fifty or so New Adult books and I thought it was time I started to read them.

I never really got into this, though. I didn't get why he suddenly wanted to know her. That bit was never explained and that sorta set up my struggle to get into it. I didn't really get the story.

Not for me, really.
