Lyra is a orphan growing up with a group of boring scholars. She has an incredible imagination and would drop anything to do in an adventure with her best pal Roger.

However Roger is kidnapped and taken north by the gobblers. Lyra, being the strong independent young woman she is, is determined to get him back.

This classic story has everything to get your imagination going. There are kidnappings, witches, daemons, armoured bears, hot air balloon trips and a machine that can tell the truth.

Totally worth a read

Watched it over Christmas, enjoyed it, very much like the first Indiana Jones movies, full of action and adventure. Definitely would like to see a second one.
