Briannabrown1019 (799 KP) rated The Houses October Built 2 (2017) in Movies
Jun 18, 2018
This was a great follow up to the 2014 film. Taking place shortly after the end of the first movie, we are able to see what happened to the characters. Brandy, still terrified and traumatized from the events of the first film is reluctant to continue her haunt adventures with her friends. The twist at the end of the movie is what made it work for me. This wrapped up the overall story well. I also love the uniqueness of the two movies. It's fun to get a "behind the scenes" look at haunted houses and events. It makes the story feel very real. 8/10 for me!
The Roth Homestead (32 KP) rated Marked (House Of Night #1) in Books

Grabbed my attention from the get go.
I've always had a strange fascination with vampires so when I found this book I was super excited. The story of Zoey Redbird and her learning how to be different while still trying to remain normal was very interesting to me. It's been a while since ive read it but I love the danger and adventures she goes on. I always felt like I related to her, being a sort of outcast in school and only having a small group of really close friends. I definitely recommend this series!
I really love this app, I use it with the Fitbit one [quite and old model] I have had it for over two years now and it’s going strong, even been in the washing machine.
I love that it is so easy to see and check during the day. I really enjoy earning badges and trying to beat my goal.
This app has really good connectivity with many other apps I use which is just great as it makes my life easy.
It’s good to connect with friends and challenge them. Also there are individual adventures you can do [you earn a badge when you complete it]

Jo (37 KP) rated The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl in Books
Oct 6, 2018
The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl had a lot going for it: Well written with a vivid narrative, interesting setting, and a good cast of characters. I enjoyed the way in which true-to-life detailing and characterisations were embellished with a measure of weirdness, and I liked the take on the fear-of-change dilemma.
BUT...
I wasn't anywhere near as taken by this as I was by Life in Outer Space. There was just this frustratingly indefinable, yet very blatant...lack. I never felt fully caught up in this, the ending really didn't wow me, and it somehow seemed a lot longer than it was.

Rebecca Starkey (19 KP) rated Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) in Books

It is like you are actually in the book
I bought this book in Asda as part of a 2 for 7 deal when it first came out. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. I felt like I was transported into the book and was travelling with Jess during his adventures
Two of my favourite characters are Morgan and Wolfe because they each bring their own elements into the story.
I am currently reading the fourth book in the quadrology and would say it is on par with the Harry Potter series as my favourite books ever!

Natari (73 KP) rated Tempt the Stars (Cassandra Palmer, #6) in Books
Jul 19, 2019
Tempt the Stars is great, even with the grief over one of my favourite characters. The way Cassie pulls Pritkin into her adventures despite his sentence of doom is run and heartbreaking.
We learn of a whole new side to the world, the witches and the Pythian court, which provides ana exciting more female empowerment. While vampires were quite gender neutral there was a heavy male presence and the mages were all male. Having the strong witches arrive and Cassie prove her place among them and growing and maturing in this book was an exciting turn that I look forward to in subsequent books.

Phil Leader (619 KP) rated Jumper in Books
Nov 18, 2019
Jumper tells the story of a red ball that is desperate to escape from the toy store and explore the world. Thanks to some help from Mr Wind he is able to have some adventures.
Written for parents to read to their young children, Jumper will not only engage 4 year olds with the tale of the adventurous ball but also has some depth and scope for discussion between parent and child over some of the issues, such as the desire to explore versus obeying rules.
A good book that will be a favourite of parents and children to be read and re-read
