Rolling Stone's 226th greatest album of all time
More turgid cringeworthy rock from Springsteen. This album was recorded by him alone as demos but they decided to release the demos rather than the intended full band rock versions of the songs. This gives the album a folkier feel, and it does stand out from his other work, but it is still unmistakably him.

Rolling Stone's 462nd greatest album of all time
Brilliant album that I haven't listened to in years. So many massive songs on here, from the well-known The One I Love and The End of the World... to the superb Finest Worksong and Exhuming McCarthy (which lets face it is a demo version of Stand). There are no poor songs on this album.

Rolling Stone's 383rd greatest album of all time
This album is proof of Talking Heads' quality - I don't recognise any of the songs (except "Take Me to the River") but really enjoyed the album. Their sound, similar to Roxy Music is so distinctive and the songwriting so strong that even a casual listener like me can enjoy it on a first listen.
