"I grew up with this album, and I remember being really sensitive to the different musical styles. It's quite a New York album, as well—all the different styles melting into one city. This is a really witty album. There's a true masterpiece in it, "Real Men," which was queer before it was a huge subject of conversation, quite gender-bending—questioning this idea of being a man and what that means. Musically, it's really rich, and very frilly as well: lots of long songs with improvisation. It's an interesting and empowering album."

Rolling Stone's 484th greatest album of all time (2020)
Looking through the tracklist of this album in advance didn't really excite me, having only heard three songs before, but it was a decent album. Admittedly, at least two other songs sound almost exactly the same as Edge of Glory, but it is a decent pop album. A little annoyingly, she doesn't seem to know how to finish a song so a lot of times I reached for my phone thinking spotify had randomly stopped only to find the song had just finished.

Solid sophmore effort from Liam Gallagher
This is a solid album that falls under the singer/songwriter genre. Basic adilt contemporary sound with each song being well constructed. While the whole album is an easy listen, only 2 songs standout for me Shockwave, which opens the album with a catchy hook, and Halo which is a bit more upbeat and cheerful than the rest of an album.

It gets lost in the sea of hundreds albums like this, but a good effort and worth it for fans of Gallagher and Oasis

Rolling Stone's 382nd greatest album of all time
Brilliant proto-punk album, being at times like a punk version of The Doors, at other times more sombre and melancholy. The mix of these marks this album out apart from other similar albums of the time. I only recognised Roadrunner (because of the disastrous Sex Pistols cover on The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle and listened to MIA's cover just the day before!), but really enjoyed the album. Around halfway through I suddenly recognised Jonathan Richman's voice as being the singer throughout There's Something About Mary.
