Ross (3284 KP) rated Rejuvenation by The Meters in Music
Jun 16, 2020
Rolling Stone's 139th greatest album of all time
The previous Meters album was very basic soul, this is much more funk-based and packing much more of a punch lyrically, more akin to Superfly-era Curtis Mayfield than the Four Tops.
Ross (3284 KP) rated Paranoid by Black Sabbath in Music
Jun 16, 2020
Rolling Stone's 131st greatest album of all time
Superb Sabbath album. It has their best known songs Paranoid, Iron Man and the phenomenal War Pigs. Some low points outwith those, but also some welcome respite from Ozzy on the instrumental sections.
Ross (3284 KP) rated Odessey and Oracle by The Zombies in Music
Jun 29, 2020
Rolling Stone's 100th greatest album of all time
Possibly the best, most underrated album of the 60s. Time of the Season perfectly encapsulates my view of the 60s. Perfectly nailing the pop sensibilities of the time, with creeping psychedelic themes.
Ross (3284 KP) rated It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back by Public Enemy in Music
Jul 1, 2020
Rolling Stone's 48th greatest album of all time
Superb rap album, in my opinion better than NWA. Much more political and opinionated rather than the simpler lyrical themes of NWA. Bring the Noise and Don't Believe the Hype are simply awesome.
