New Sound
This is not what I expected from The Vaccines. Their drop track Handsome didn't set up the right feel for this album. Honestly, I know so many Vaccines fans who don't care for this album and generally skip it in their discography. It's a good idea to explore sound, but I think this is a change from the sound we've all known and come to love.

Solo album of a legend
Grew up listening to melodic rock/AoR thanks to my dad and this guy is one of the all time greats. I first knew him from the band Royal Hunt who are also amazing but on this album he shows his solo capabilities. Easily one of the best vocalists ive had the pleasure to see live.

Rolling Stone's 201st greatest album of all time
While this album contains moments of pure rock/metal genius, a lot of it is metal-by-numbers. It was truly groundbreaking at the time and hugely influential, but I find a lot of it quite dated and it makes me think of all the bands that have taken the ideas and made them so much better (including ironically Marilyn Manson).

Rolling Stone's 260th greatest album of all time
Mediocre country-lite cover versions. Some familiar (All of Me, Unchained Melody), some not. Generally quite a sombre feel to the album, especially in the likes of Don't Get Around Much Any More. Also Nelson's way over over-pronouncing "s" sounds gets annoying quickly and reminds me of this character from Scottish sketch show Chewin The Fat:

Rolling Stone's 245th greatest album of all time
Unsettling collection of songs from one of the stars of rock and roll. While his big hits are all here, there is a jarring change in style throughout the album as it includes some of his later country music releases. Not a great listen due to its inconsistency, it is hard to see how any fans of either style would be satisfied.

The punk-rock ethic but without the music. The album of noise starts quite well, but in the end is just a monotonous noise with someone muttering and then screeching over the top. I'm all for noisy experimental music but this was just generally unlistenable noise (I realise I sound like an old man saying that),
