I liked this but it didn't blow me away. It took a long time for stuff to get going and I'd begun to lose interest just as the pace picked up. It never fully grabbed me but I liked the new take on dragons (draygones) and the Darken family grew on me and in the end I was happy for our clumsy girl to get the hot alien-Dragon-boy-man.

I'm not sure if I'm intrigued enough to buy book 2

"Natalie Portman plays a young teenage pop artist, Celeste, who starts making music after surviving a school shooting. Then it becomes a film about what the pop industry can do to people, what not to do within it, and about messiah complexes. It’s a really over-the-top, sinister film – it becomes almost alien. But it also reminds you to keep your ego in check, pull your baseball cap down, don’t get lost in the madness, and just keep working."

Just watched on YouTube havent seen this since vhs back in the day basically it's a cross between alien and the thing set underwater which is similar to a another movie which came out the same year but this film is slightly better than deep star six the creature effects are the best part of the movie even if it looks out of date and coulda been cgied if the movie was made today overall not bad movie

The Movie.

Bet you never knew the pyramids were built as landing pads for alien spacecraft!

Now nearly 30 years old (as of the time of writing), and the seed for the later 9and more successful) TV spin-offs Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis and Stargate: Universe.

Looking back now, it's actually surprising just how 'bare-bones' this is compared to those: there's no Goa'uld, for instance, or even any mention (like, at all!) of the same.

Still enjoyable!
