The Best Batman Joker movie yet
Bruce Wyane (Keaton) is a billionaire with a dark past on how his parents were killed. His motivation is life has become to never see crime like this happen in Gotham city again and becomes the crime fighter known as Batman. Jack Napier (Nicholson) is a life long criminal who gets dropped into a vat of chemicals and becomes the maniacal criminal villain known as Joker. Vicki Vale (Bassinger) is a reporter who wants to find out out more about the bat and becomes Bruce's love interest but, also strikes the fancy of the Joker. Who will Gotham and the girl belong to when it's all done?

The best Batman movie in my opinion. Keaton gives a great portrayal of Bruce/Batman and Nicholson as the Joker gives us the right emotions that he deserves. Bassinger is also very good as the love intrest. All in all a great watch

You can't hate this movie. The magic and excitement and storyline are first rate. Spielberg deliver an awardwining script about an alien befriending a young boy and the boy saving his life. Also how can you hate an alien that loves Reese's Pieces. Don't forget about Drew Barrymore debut

Today I went to see The Promise...this movie was pretty close to the history that I was told growing up as the step daughter of an Armenian it made me saddened and proud of the culture. I was also surprised that I laughed a few times it hit me on all emotions.

Eraserhead (1977)
Eraserhead (1977)

"When Eraserhead came out in France, it came out with the weird title, The Head to Erase. It was in French. I remember I was reading my parents’ newspaper — it was a socialist newspaper — and there was a whole page of how much this famous film critic didn’t like the movie. He was really trashing the movie. But the way he was saying it was very awful, disgusting, it made me — I was a 14 or 15 year old kid — want to go to the other side of the city and see it. And then it was like my own secret. And I went there. And I loved the movie so much, that I believe I went to see it four times in one month. Then after two weeks it moved to another city and I went to see it again in a screening with my friend. Then maybe one year later, it was replaying near my house at the midnight screening, so I went again with another friend. And for me that was the confirmation that cinema could also portray your inner world, that cinema could portray dreams and nightmares. And I hadn’t seen, at that time Un Chien Andalou by [Luis] Buñuel but Un Chien Andalou is one of the rare movies that is written in a mental language, a dreamt language. Eraserhead is another one. Kubrick said once that he regrets he didn’t have the idea to do that movie. In any case, it had such a strong impact on me that I would say Eraserhead — it made me get into film school two years later. Maybe it was a mix of 2001 and Eraserhead. I don’t know how many times I saw Eraserhead in the movie theater, but I guess it was maybe 15 times. I had an addiction to this movie, which is the kind of addiction kids can have to their mother telling them a story. You want to listen to the same story over and over, and have a hypnotic feeling and relaxing feeling. It created some kind of relaxing feeling in me. That I would enjoy all these movies — that are nightmarish– as if it were a dream, especially when the girl comes out saying everything is fine in heaven. There’s a fact also that David Lynch made that movie with almost no money over a period of five years. Then when I was doing I Stand Alone, I had a lot of money issues. I had problems completing the movie, then doing the editing, also. All the time I had in mind that David Lynch did that movie in five years. And I said well, “Maybe it will take me 10 years to finish the movie. If it takes ten years I’ll do it and I shouldn’t worry.”"

This is one of my all time favourite movies. Every character is played so well (0 more)

Amazing movie
Kurt Russell was born to play Wyatt Earp. It is without a doubt his best role. All Earp wants to do is settle down to the simple life but it doesn't work out that way.
Val Kilmer makes a fantastic Doc Holiday. He lost so much weight to play the character but it's one of his best roles.
It also stars one of my favourite actors, Sam Elliott. You cannot have a western movie without him.
It ticks all the boxes.

The Old Man & the Gun was a beautifully shot and fun movie that was a nice tip of the hat to Robert Redford's career. Robert is surrounded by an all-star cast including Sissy Spacek, Casey Affleck, Danny Glover, and Tom Waits, so what more do you need to know? Well, I can tell you that is also mostly a true story. If this is indeed Robert Redford's last movie he went out in style, and I don't think it's just because he looked sharp over the years in all of his movies, I think he actually knew what he was doing.

What started as a great film that had a solid story, also had moment's of "please don't pull this crud again" which ended with both sighs of relief and of annoyance but was going well until the end, now I wont say what happened but I am saddened by netflix giving another unsatisfying end to an otherwise good movie, you may feel differently but this is my opinion.

So aside from the ending, this was an enjoyable, on the edge of your seat movie....with an almost completely obvious ending.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)
2019 | Animation, Comedy, Fantasy
Right from the start this movie feels like something made by people who know, and love Pokemon, and their love shines through in the quality of production. The movie is perfectly balanced in terms of exposition for those who have barely heard of Pokemon, and those (probably smaller) people who've dragged them along to watch it.

The start is a little slow and the lead character Tim (Justice Smith) starts the movie very much not wanting to be there, which turns out to be a fantastic complement to Ryan Reynold's Pikachu when he eventually turns up, very much a kid friendly Deadpool pushing his unwilling accomplice into investigating the mysterious circumstances of Tim's dad.

The CGI representations of Pokemon was spot on, they move naturally and look just the right side of realistic.

Also as a side note the movie very nicely ties up all the loose ends in the movie, there was no cliff hanger or set up for a sequel, and no massive gaping plot holes to endlessly niggle at your conscience.

Well worth a watch, especially if you, or your kids, are Pokemon fans.

The music. Oh my beating heart.
English dub specific: you CANNOT go wrong with Billy Crystal.
IMO: The very best of Studio Ghibli.
Such a delightful movie. Everything about it makes me happy, or content, or understanding of the world, or takes the edge off whatever is bothering me IRL.

When I sat down to watch this movie when it initially came out, I wasn't sure what to expect, I knew that I'd probably be rolling my eyes a lot. But, I actually found this film completely hilarious. The premise is ridiculous, and a lot of the humor is raunchy, but it wasn't too much, in my opinion.
Also, it's a plus that young/hot Sebastian Stan is in this film.
