Easily, one of the most iconic movies of all time. Legendary Martin Scorsese's 1976 classic tells the tale of Travis Bickle, played to perfection by Robert De Niro, isolated in New York, struggling to maintain his sanity in a place he subconsciously does not belong in. The film explores themes of loneliness in a way that is sympathetic and haunting at the same time, a beautiful contradiction. As an introvert who has struggled with loneliness my whole life, this movie affects me like no other. But aside from all the deep stuff within the film, it's extremely well directed and brilliantly written, led by the career defining performance of De Niro. One of the most compelling narratives I've ever experienced in film. The atmosphere is also a definite highlight in this film, as it adds that layer of tension that only gets more prevalent as the movie progresses. Without a doubt, it's my favorite movie of all time and I can't recommend it enough. If you're a movie buff and love movies that challenge you and give you an in depth look at such an intriguing concept, do yourself a favor and watch this movie, then add it to your collection and buy it.

This movie was on the borderline between good and just ok, I rounded up. I was irritated because the theater where I have the subscription with was only showing the film in 3D. I'm not a huge 3D fan, and don't think anything is really added by it.
I know James Cameron was supposed to be the main draw, but I think he's pompous, and Avatar is not a good movie (IMO/it's lame and a snore). I was there mainly for Robert Rodriguez, he's a BFD here.
Essentially, it's Ghost in the Shell with a different story around it. I loved the fight/actions scenes, I was riveted by those. But, everything around it was kind of lame with bad dialogue and an unnecessary love story.
I also hated that it left on a cliffhanger. The movie drastically under-performed, leading to the worst Presidents' Day box office in the US since 2004. Likelihood of a sequel? Slim to none.

The Theory of Conspiracies
Conspiracy Theory- is a good movie, a little long and dated but its still a good movie. Both Mel Gibson and Juila Roberts do a good job and Partick Stewart as the villian, was cool to see. Cause he doesn't play alot of villian roles, so it was nice to see him play as the villian.
The plot: New York City cabbie Jerry Fletcher (Mel Gibson) is an expert on paranoid conspiracy theories. He is also infatuated with government lawyer Alice Sutton (Julia Roberts), who permits his attention because he once rescued her from a mugging. However, when Jerry is captured and put through psychotic tests by Dr. Jonas (Patrick Stewart), he realizes there is an actual conspiracy. After escaping, Jerry enlists Alice's help, but she wonders whether he has uncovered a real threat or is just insane.
Its has good drama, suspense, thrills and some action, but its still a good movie.

Enjoyable film, but too long

Leo and Brad, once again, did a great job. I felt like the nod to old westerns was not so much a nod as am almost full western within the film (I exaggerate of course, but it was quite lengthy).
I thought Margot Robbie did a lovely job as Sharon Tate, and the scene where she was watching her own movie was kind of adorable. although she barely spoke and I wish she had more input in the movie.
When the Manson family members got wrecked I laughed so hard. The part with the flamethrower was masterful, absolutely hilarious. Even though the screaming was so over-acted, it just made the scene so much more Tarantino and funny. Also, the dog survived so that's a win in my book.
I felt like a few scenes dragged a bit and a few didn't add anything to the movie.

The best Wolverine movie yet: grown-up, ballsy, character-driven and grounded. It feels right that it should be the last one, but it also feels a bit of a shame

Not such a disaster
The Franco brothers star side-by-side in their first major collaboration, in this comedic drama, The Disaster Artist, based on the making of the cult classic 'The Room'.
The film follows Tommy Wiseau (James Franco) as he writes, directs, produces and stars in his first movie alongside best friend Greg Sestero (Dave Franco). It is almost unbelievable as a true story, it just seems like another mad Franco/Rogen movie. But it isn't, this actually happened.
'The Room' was released in 2003, and became a cult classic because of how hilariously awful it was. The storyline, writing, and acting are all very bizarre, and very bad.
But The Disaster Artist is a great movie, with an array of amazing actors, bringing to life the making of the movie, with hilarity.
Before going into this movie, I knew about The Room and had seen several scenes. But all I knew was that it was about the making of the movie, starring James and Dave Franco and also Seth Rogen. But there are many more actors in this that I did not know about which made for a great surprise. Josh Hutcherson, one of my personal favourites, appears as Philip Haldiman who plays 'Denny' in 'The Room', and also Zac Efron, as Dan Janjigian who plays 'Chris-R'.
The actors play excellently all the things that went wrong on the set, such as Wiseau forgetting one line for two hours for a 30-second scene, and his insistence on the cameras catching some great shots of him during the sex scenes.
The casting was great, although they did as expected and almost the whole cast are friends of James, Dave or Rogen. It works though, and they all have brilliant chemistry. It will seem obvious that James and Dave work well together, as they are brothers, but in this movie they play best friends. I think the fact that they are brothers perhaps helped them out as it is a very rocky friendship, and they could perhaps remember times they have had spats about various things.
I can not say too much about the movie without giving away spoilers. But at end of the movie they play some of the scenes side by side; the scene from the movie, alongside the scene that this cast re-enacted. They are pretty accurate, but very funny.
Tommy Wiseau himself also makes a cameo. Make sure you stay until after the credits.
Overall, it is a brilliantly made movie, with both funny and endearing moments. Part of me hopes that on special features on their DVD you can watch the entirety of 'The Room' re-enacted by these actors. The film has already received many nominations for prestigious awards, and I am not surprised.
I would definitely recommend going to see this movie, but at least watch a YouTube summary of 'The Room' first.
