It does suffer from the major drawback of all anthology films (and television shows for that matter), which is the inconsistency of quality from story to story.

Don't be surprised if you see more than one review on this post, because I have so many books to review, I decided to put these two shorter books together in one post! Two for the price of one, really! https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2020/04/12/shortstorysunday-one-novelette-and-an-anthology/

Great Thriller
Great little known thriller. One of Paul Walker's lesser known films, but one of his best. A gritty and violent story of how a hand gun changes hands over the course of a night. Almost has an anthology feel as several side stories weave together. If you like Goodfellas you should like this!

2017 | Documentary
The easygoing, episodic structure of their journey gives “Faces Places” a deceptively casual air. The film works just fine as an anthology of amiable encounters and improvised collaborations.

Snow White , Blood Red (Fairy tale anthology book 1)
Edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Exploring the darker side of popular fairy tales, this anthology features dark and erotic tales of trolls and ogres, bewitched princesses, and magical kingdoms.

There were a few I picked out that I liked and I found a few new authors to try.

The Frog Prince by Gahan Wilson - Really enjoyed this it was a strange little story very Alice in Wonderland feel.

Stalking Beans by Nancy Kress - This is definitely a different adult spin on Jack and the beanstalk!

Snow Drop by Tabitha Lee - This was my favourite by far. A dark twisty version of Snow White and her step mother very dark.

Little Red by Wendy Wheeler - This gave me creepy shivers. Very well written unfortunately I can’t find anything by this author!

The Root of the Matter by Gregory Frost - This is a very adult version of Repunzel kinda dark and to the point.

The Changelings by Melanie Tem - Strange little story with some very sad undertones.

Troll Bridge by Neil Gaiman - I love Neil Gaiman he has such a unique storytelling ability and this did not disappoint!

Overall it was a good little anthology!

This is a collection of seasonal stories that are predominately contemporary, with just a couple of supernatural/paranormal in there. They are all 'sweet' and there are no details - the most you get is hot kissing. The rest is either inferred or it fades to black.

In this anthology, there are some great stories, and some not-so-great stories, but on the whole, it is a sentimental and wholesome collection of seasonal stories to give you a warm glow over the festive period.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this anthology to all fans of contemporary sweet romance,

4 short stories make up Big Finish's first foray into anthology storytelling, and there isn't a bad one in the bunch. Outstanding storytelling, great acting (especially by my favorite guest star, David Warner) a deepening of the special relationship that five and Nyssa share, and a finale to die for. This might be my favorite Fifth Doctor story of the line thus far. Great audio!

Read this as part of the PPA volume one anthology.

I loved it. A well written and thought out piece. I don't like to give out spoilers and so I won't but I will say that it was a fantastic read. Dominant protective man. Strong willed woman. Explosive results.

Definitely suggest this to anyone who loves steamy romance.
Go... Buy... Read. You won't regret it.

"The first Tarkovsky I saw was Nostalgia, and I kept asking myself, how can someone have done this? Where does this mind come from? Later, I saw Andrei Rublev for the first time at Anthology. What I love about it is that it just hits you in places you don’t expect—the composition of the shots and how he fills them with emotion is so beautiful."
