John Wick: Chapter 2 lets you stop and breathe for only the few moments it gives the main character a reprieve from a relentless onslaught of international assassins. It's intense, and the action is as cleanly shot as ever. The fight choreography and cinematography is just as commendable as the first film, and there's even more action to show this time around. The problem with this installment is simply that it isn't as good as the first. While John Wick's story was never going to win any awards, this second chapter gets a little muddled. There's so much of this fascinating, shadowy universe of assassins that Chad Stahelski and Derek Kolstad want to show, but precious little time to really stop and show it. Perhaps Chapter 3 will tie it all up nicely, but the ending of Chapter 2 seems to suggest that things are only going to get crazier. I'm going to enjoy the wild ride either way, and I'm not-so-secretly hoping they name Chapter 3 "John Wick vs. the World."

all the babies!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is an addition to the Tangled Tentacles AND Assassins To Order series, it cannot be read as a stand alone.
What this is, right, is a wonderful catch up everyone and I loved it, bar one thing.
There are a lot of babies in this book, and a LOT of surprises for several members of this ever growing family!
I liked that Magnus puts his paw down with Kelvin's kraken about their birth. I LOVED the surprise for Markov and Cassius, that one threw me! Them too, but did not see that one coming! I loved that there were conversations about NOT having babies, at all or just yet.
But the best surprise was for Marvin and Ajani!
So, what didn't I love?? Too short! I need more of these kind of catch up shorts, or better yet, the next book in the Assassins series! I love these books, and it's been a little while.
a delightful catch up, thank you for writing them!
4 too stinking cute and warm and fuzzy stars

Not true to video games
I was cranky at the end of this
As a massive Assassin's Creed fan, I was very excited for this movie. I really wanted to like it: the visuals were great, the fight scenes were fun, and an interesting story. However, there were statements said that are absolutely not true about the Assassins and this ruined most of the movie for me. As an action movie, it's pretty good and the fight scenes are exciting. The costuming was great, as were the actors.

A simple if entertaining action film. A plot that has been done quite a few times now, this time based around a group of assassins taking over a small town every 7 years for a battle royale to find the last one standing. Tons of action in this, some good fights, chase scenes and stunts and quite a bit of blood. The standard of the cast including Ving Rhames, Ian Somerhalder of Vampire Diaries, and the pace of the film raise it above average. Very enjoyable eye fodder!
