John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
2017 | Action, Crime, Thriller
Chapter 2 wasn't necessarily better than the first John Wick, but I didn't have to see his poor dead puppy. The action was good, and everything was well-choreographed. I love knowing that Keanu did the stunts, and he's just general a bad ass as John Wick. I'm not sure where Chapter Three will go, but I'm definitely, anxiously awaiting it.

Any of us without the knowhow might be totally lost if it weren’t for the talented writer-scientists who take the time to pen popular science books about their respective fields.

These are the best in popular science from the past year – books that will enlighten, entertain, terrify and make you feel bad about how little you remember from school.

The Times UK team travels from our ancient past to a robotic future:

Seemed a little childish for an adult audience, but maybe that is what they were going for. I liked the acting and story. It just seemed a little too simple and a little too long. When the bad guy is defeated with 25 minutes left, you are doing something wrong.

My first companion chronicle from Big Finish is a bit of a mixed bad. Loved the basic story, was less thrilled with how they went about telling that story. I feel it took away from the Liz Shaw character, the guys disagreed with me. Our full review is available in episode 303 over at http://travelingthevortex.com/?p=7644 Warning, spoilers ahead...

To be honest, I didn’t want to rate this book because I loved it for how it provoked me to think, but little things like the pacing, which was understandably slow, made me give it a 4.25 star rating.

Love movies, hate people who talk through them!
Sci-fi, horror (especially bad horror), animation, action/comedy, not a lover of rom coms.
Love reading horror/sci-fi. In fact, I don't read any other genre. Like tatts and ale. Oh, and jelly beans.

Short and sweet
It's not a long album but I don't think there is a track on it I would rate lower than a 6. Amazing guitar and drums playing. Good mix of slow, fast and faster songs. Topped off with the iconic Master of puppets track.

Loved it
I came across Harry Potter when the school my kids went to was trying to have the books banned and removed. So in research mode I read the first one (sorcerer's stone) and was hooked. This book opens a whole world of magic and friendship, good vs bad and all that you would expect from a magic school. Awesome read!

For me this is the perfect way to end the trilogy, we start the trilogy with the birth of Caesar and we end with his death. The perfect story arc of his story.

Gripping from start to finish
I was absolutely hooked by this psychological thriller. A lot of twists and turns, you delve into the mind of an alcoholic, and even feel like you experience the same nerve wracking incidents in which nothing is fluid. The characters were believable, with both good and bad sides highlighted. Nothing is what it seems. A well-constructed book.
